You have to start somewhere and when you are nothing but brand among others, you can't be asking as much as established ones with following and recognition, you build and develop the brand and gain your position.

It's because they start so low, I don't know about CE or their tees specifically but brands like these start with prices they barely brake profit just to move stock and get their name out there, the justification is that they are not making profit for a long time because they need other things for their company, name and brand recognition for example.
CP achilles were like two hundred something when they weren't as popular, the prices now probably reflect the reality of what they have tried to do from the beginning better now. That's just the harsh reality of clothing business.

The reason they can sell it for that markup is because there are enough people who will still buy it

not OP but: sign up for a proxy (I use buyee), bid through their website (they have Y!auctions as well as Japan-only Rakuten listings, etc.), then the item is shipped to them, then they ship it to you. Can get pricey since you have to pay shipping twice (it's reasonable, though) and a small % in service charge. All in, the extra on top of my purchases ends up being 20-30, inc shipping. Not bad.
