what model do you own? do you really think it's shitty? because in my W59 (the watch on the right) the light totally suffices in the dark. I can read the time just fine. it really depends on the light circumstances around you though. in complete dark there is no problem reading it. if you think you need better light, you gotta buy the A168 because it has EL backlighting or the B640 because that one has dual LEDs and lights up the whole display..

I copped a Seiko SKX007 on Massdrop recently. First mechanical / not-totally-pleb watch. I plan to put it on a super oyster bracelet (pictured). Thoughts on this?

I'll also probably get a perlon (thinking light gray) and a couple of natos.

How legit is Jomashop? Bought a Hamilton King Khaki, and things just seem off. I need to get it sized, so it obviously doesn't sit on my wrist well yet, but I can't seem to get the thing started. In one video I watched, it seemed to be manual as well as automatic, but I can't get that going either. Lastly, and most concerning, there seems to be a jewel stuck to the case back. When the weight swings down, I can still see it through the glass. Did I get scammed, or am I just missing some details because I'm slightly drunk?

It's a Russian Poljot Kirova with 3133 chronograph movement. It's a Russian homage to the WW2 German Tutima/Glashütte/Hanhart chronographs. Well not sure if homage is the best word since the Soviets made this model since the occupation of east Germany after the war.

I think the boccia looks a lot better.
Better color, I like the clean circles around the smaller dials, and it's better proportioned. The Seiko may be better quality but the aesthetic is worse.

It's a fashion brand, not a good watch, probably the cheapest Chinese parts and materials, but no reason not to wear it, if you like how it looks.

Personally I think it's ugly. if you want an opinion of a random stranger. Visible screws don't look good on any watch, 2 smaller dials overlap the 3rd, circle groove patter looks broken around the date and in general it just isn't an attractive design. And WTF is up with that 24 dial? A chronograph should have minutes, seconds and 1/10 seconds. Not that it would help, it's hard to read even minutes on that dial.

I was seriously thinking about getting a Ball instead of my Omega because I'm such a tritium whore.

If you want a surprisingly good watch then grab a Parnis Portuguese off of Dajiwatch or other trusted Parnis retailers (there's a list on watchuseek). For less than 90$ you have an automatic accurate between 5 and 15 seconds depending on people, 40h power reserve + indicator and small second indicator. It is absurdly high value for the price (if a Swiss brand made it it probably wouldn't retail for less than a thousand dollars).
Only downside = no sapphire crystal. I also recommend you eventually change the strap down the road. Here's a pic of mine with butterfly clasp

It depends, the tissot is very dressy, but you might pull it off on a NATO, an olive color or so. The Seiko in my opinion is a nice sports watch and you and wear for a formal occasion with the steel braclet.

It seems the simpler the watch the more expensive they are! I've seen some really hideous things in my price range that would be decent if they didn't have so much additions. I thought it was reasonable that the less stuff a watch has the cheaper it would be.
