Yeah. Going with UK size, I'm 8.5 (my 8 pair is a really snug fit) with NMD XR-1 PK, 8.5 with Tubular Doom (about the right size), and I went 9 for those, and it's pretty much perfect. I do have wide feet, which kinds of fuck up my shoe size though.

The upper's materials are really fucking meh to be honest. The synthetic faux suede or what ever it is feels cheap and un-durable
Even the models (93/16) which have real suede are really bad quality wise. Uneven seams and the suede changes quality with every different patch.
I love the silhouette and they're comfy as hell, but I am really disappointed with the quality.
Ended up paying "only" 80€ but I feel like for what they retail for the quality should be better.

Having worn them now, I actually agree for the material quality. Faux suede doesn't stand the test of being worn, it already doesn't look as nice.
The seems don't seem bad to me though, although I lack a proper comparison point.

That said, I mostly agree with your conclusion, they're not as good as the original price might let think, and the materials don't stand the comparison to my uk-made new balance, which are probably my best-made sneakers.
I think there's a real "boost tax" though, which partly justify the expensive price. And I'd say they're a better buy than the "normal" eqt support, which are crazy expensive if the upper is the same.

93/17 sole felt way too squishy and unstable, adding a torsion system (they already have the cutout on the outsole) would really improve the model
CS1 really isn't optimal either since the plugs take away some of the comfort

Just fucking look at it. On the left pic the top grey part is nice, so is the green. It's soft and the nap is short, feels nice to the touch. On the bottom patch it's long and uneven nap, completely different. The other shoe doesn't have the same suede on the same part

I owned 3 of them before reselling and ended keeping one. They are the least interesting of the hyped Boost sneakers. The fact that it looks simple screams that it wouldn't have a longevity. That goes for the r1 and r2. City socks are nice

The midsole plugs are a call back to funky 80's Adidas tech like pic related. I think they are striking, especially the R1 model with woven (not mesh) upper. My NMDs get more attention than any of my other Boost sneakers.

Compared to other Boost models, the NMD runner has a flat outsole (no grid/mesh) and thus walks and wears differently. It's obviously more of a casual and fashion shoe than the Pureboost or the Ultraboost, but still comfortable for serious walking. My favorite shoe to wear to the >mall for all day shopping.

This whole situation is so strange. If you had copped them from ebay or some sketchy chinese site I would've easily said they're fake, but the fact that they're from what seems to be a real sneaker store, that has actual store locations makes determining wether or not they're fake pretty hard

I know there have been situations where Adidas sends out sneakers to retailers before actual release. It happened with the Ultra Boost 4.0 when zalando sold pairs a few months back and they aren't even released to date.
Also the cs1 gum pack was sent out before actual european release, but adidas pushed back the date so stores had them waiting in the back for 4 months

I wear EQT 93/16's and Tubular moc runners as beaters.
You can find both pretty cheap, saw the mocs today at an outlet for 30€ and the eqt's usually go for around 80€ on sale
I like suede shoes as beaters, since they can really take a beating. Mesh and knit materials rip easily, so I wouldn't bother getting those as beaters, but that definitely depends on the wearer.
I've used Jason Markk repel on both of my beaters, used them in snow and rain and they still look good.

Jason markk will repel water for a brief moment, but they'll get soeaked sooner or later.
EQT Supports (or support ultras / 93/16's) will definitely hold up in the rain better, but the suede will get messed if soaked.
I wear my tubular moc runners in light rain. The more rugged and longer nap suede can take the beating. However for pouring rain I go with my leather converse takoa boots, even though I'm not that into them anymore.

Probably getting the Nike Presto mid utilitys for autumn when it really rains. Looks like the best combination of comfort and water repellency
