This guy's fit is good for his style. The pieces fit well, they are coherent and the colours are well chosen. Its only flaw is that it's too new, that's why it looks odd. When those shoes, jeans and overshirt will be broken-in and have some patina, it will cease to look awkward and look great instead

It's not a joke. The whole point of selvedge is that there isn't something like an fabric end that needs a hem. The denim is also usually heavy as fuck so nearly nobody will be able to alter it. That's also why the legs are so long, it's due to it having to he the length of the machine the fabric was woven on.

Of course the legs of your selvedge jeans are hemmed at the end. And of course it can be cut shorter and hemmed again at the right lenght. Also selvedge does by no way mean heavier. Many non-selvedge denims are very thick, and many selvedge ones are thin. But anyway, if it can be sewed when it's being made, of fucking course you can alter it by sewing it again. And if you bought some ridiculously heavy jeans there are specialised tailors who have machines powerful enough to easily do that

Also you are confusing raw and selvedge denim. Raw simply means that it has not been faded after having been dyed
