What's a /fa/ lifestyle like?
being mean

I consider being a minimalist one possible expression of an /fa/ lifestyle
Not in the "durrr everything must have that minimal aesthetic and I must own nothing" way but following the "if I buy something it must provide me with a significant amount of value, else I will not buy it"
I also think an /fa/ way of interacting with the world is a little aloof and separate, possibly a tad condescending; that's the sense that I get, but I don't do that because it sounds somewhat miserable.
Not being too happy seems pretty /fa/ as well. Depression fucking sucks hard but through the right filter it is very "noble struggle" or "tortured artist" or w/e

Thanks for the post, Senpai. I'm trying to live a /fa/ lifestyle though I hate referring to it as such because life is just so boring. I'm trying to get ideas for improvement.

np. a good place to start with minimalism is http://www.theminimalists.com/netflix/. Watch the documentary and/or buy the book (I haven't bought the book). That's a really great introduction and way to start.
Also, forgot to mention one of the biggest things I try to do to keep an /fa/ lifestyle: Don't care about what other people think about your lifestyle or if it is /fa/ enough. Investing in the beliefs and opinions of other people and changing your life to match them is one of least fashionable things ever.

maybe you shouldn't try to formulate something complex like an entire lifestyle on the basis of fashion, which is comparatively shallow

Let me give this a shot anon. I would say an /fa/ lifestyle would consist of whatever you want it to be.
Yes, I know that does sound like a vague non answer but here me out. Just as one would use clothing as a medium to express thier self, the same can be done with one's life/lifestyle. Find and do all the things you want to do. Do all the things that correspond with the person you are inside.
Avoid trying to predetermine a set course or lifesyle. Try things, make mistakes, & learn from them. Just like you would do with your own personal style. Doing this will build genuine character, that's something that people will notice & distinguish about you. Then inturn, as you grow as a person, your sense of style will shift to reflect that growth.
So with all that said, to me, a /fa/ lifestyle is uninhibited expression of ones self and journey through life. Just be you anon and your /fa/ lifestyle witll manifest naturally.
