Think relaxed formalwear, comfy, subdued. Wool and linen. Shirts and knitwear. Coats and blousons. Silent patterns. Hints of Lemaire?
Post inspo and link resources. Is there any name for this style? Any blogs or instagramers going for this?

anyone have good designers for this? I don't like spending a lot of money so ideally cheap otherwise I'll be thrifting..
>>12280743
You can get a similar effect with Uniqlo. There's also Lemaire collab.
I think they have made pretty decent blog about this style. http://www.tipguin.com/index.php/2017/02/25/traditional-british-menswear-store/
>>12280743
most decent traditional menswear brands should have items for this style
>>12280927
What are traditional menswear brands which don't offer overpriced luxury items?
>>12280217
Their shirts are like $200-500 buddy
Thoughts?
texturecore is the next wave

This looks so fucking good
>>12278124
Not really a fan of this one, don't you guys think the silhouette makes the wearer appear skinnyfat/big thighs?
>>12281113
I get strong military vibes. Lefty intellectual anno 1955.
>>12281113
Agree with the strong military vibe.
Not sure about lefty though.
It's a HB jacket I believe.
Color and artwork aside, Its resemblance to their M32 SS tunic is uncanny

>>12281305
50s lefty intellectuals were very diffrent from contemporary lefties, keep that in mind. Think Jean Paul Sartre rather than college "libs"

>>12283597
it's literally just a gray sweater
>>12283635
Made of sweatshirt material lol...
Not the same type of knitwear that fits this aesthetic
>>12283652
Knitwear is most likely the better choice, but simple crewneck sweatshirts have some tradition in college attire for more casual fits.
Where to cop some linen shirts? I think I'll save buying wool for when it's starting to get cold again, but I really dig this style

Shame no one in academia can afford any of this stuff. Well, the economics professors could, but they all dress in shit suits
>>12286653
good stuff, thanks for sharing
why do people shun good -- and affordable clothing?
Sad! The wealthiest people I know wear Ralph Lauren and Seikos ffs.
>be poor

I really wanna love this fit, but those shoes fucking ruin it big time imo.
really love this style but its hard too pull off without investing in it and being really particular about the fits without looking like a really basic thrift shop kid that wears ill fitting suits. its suited to an older demographic imo

nothing ever fits me guys, I'm scared to start a new style even though I'd love to wear this stuff
i'm skinnyfat with an unfortunately big jawline and everything looks weird
>>12288223
perhaps he's looking for somewhere he can buy it online, instead of traveling to Amsterdam
>>12287279
>its suited to an older demographic imo
Yeah, thats probably true.
>>12287279
I think the key is to avoid particular pieces associated with more traditional menswear. Forego the blazer for a jumper and a coat suited to the style. This is why I have been looking out for non-blazer outerwear with nice patterns like check, plaid or houndstooth, but they prove to be quite hard to find.

Best oxfords next to Gitman Vintage? I enjoy the light cotton fit that isn't like my other OCBDs.
