Summer BBQ's of the upper class maybe

Pretty much just white parties. Off-white suits in a more relaxed style are much more versatile.

Appropriate times to wear one:

Tacky theme weddings
Halloween / costume parties
Tasteless social events held by slightly upper-middle class people who don't realize they're still middle class

Almost never. That being said, an off-white suit is a cool item to have as he trousers or jacket as seperates are pretty versatile.
