decided to try the intermittent diet.
Can I drink black coffee between my 2 meals or only at the time of the meal?
Due to my lifestyle my meals would have to be at 10am and 6pm, is that ok?

Well this is day one of IF and the last meal I had was yesterday at 7pm.

So far I think I could actually manage to not eat until 8pm today.

Also, I read on the IF subreddit that coffee actually stops the fasting process and it's actually optimal to not drink it outside the meals or the 8 hour period.

I've also calculated my TCAA?, I think that's how it's called, and it came out to 2600 per day.
So having one meal at 8pm should be good if I eat around 1200 calories right?

You're thinking of TDEE. 1,200 is fine if you're going for that steep of a deficit, you may have to go higher to make it more easily sustainable. You'll know if you need to after trying it for a bit I'm sure.

Quick add calories up to 1000 and then add the same number of calories burned in exercise! It will keep you in the same deficit but will put your total calories over the level where it lets you finish your day.

I know this feeling, I actually started buying these broth packets that you can pop into some hot water like a tea bag and it tends to do the job well enough. Sometimes I just get tired of tea and gum, need something salty. The ones I have are only like 15 cal per bag too! Though I suppose there are probably different kinds. Its pretty common to overeat after quitting cigs, but after a few days/weeks it blows over. I used to smoke 15-30 a day, and once I quit I probably put on around 5-10kg. You distract yourself from cigs with food, it could work the other way around too, but there are healthier and less expensive ways to go about it.

I'm sort of in the middle on all this. I watched a bunch of Jason Fung videos and related content, and it all states that the IF helps you burn fat reserves for fuel since you aren't using glucose like a mealcuck would.

Anecdotally, however, I don't find any real benefit other than eating less. I don't think I'm losing weight any fasting eating 1500 calories in IF than if I eat 1500 calories as a mealcuck - I'm just less miserable doing it with IF.

so I just started a diet to lose weight and basically what I eat for lunch is 3 or 4 chicken breast fillets with rice and vegetables like artichoke, broccoli or spinach for dinner. I also eat a piece of fruit after every meal, often an apple or a few slices of pineapple. I feel like I'm eating too much, should I reduce the quantity of food? Depends on the fruit, all fruit is high in sugar and some are carby (bananas for example) so look into whatever you're eating. 4 might be too many breast fillets, especially if they're not organic and are filled with hormones that fuck with your weight retention, I'd limit to 2, or 3 if you have to.

If you just started, you will have to test. Eat as you are for 2 weeks. If you do not lose about 1 pound each week, or at least 1.5 pounds total, cut out the fruit. It's much easier in the long run if you track your calories exactly on a daily basis so you can easier see where to cut extra ones when you need to.

I think I'm lactose intolerant. Today I went to a cafe with my mum and for some stupid reason chose the most decadent stupid thing on the menu (ice coffee, with icecream AND cream, ffs). I usually only drink almond or soy milk, but I've never had problems with dairy products before.

I immediately started feeling sick and bloated. I couldn't finish the drink.

I noticed when I ran to the bathroom that I was putting on a bit of a belly and thus, I'm back here to seek support and advice from you guys, because back in July-November, /thin/ helped me go down from 66kg to 57. But I've plateaued, and probably even gained some extra weight, and I'm thinking of doing some fasting over the next two days.

Do you guys think this will help me??
Plan on drinking coffee in the morning, 1 litre of water every 2 hours, taking a run to the gym while my mum eats dinner.
And if I can handle it I might drag it through into the next day.

Well depending on how basic you mean you might be doomed for skinnyfatness then
Maybe try stuff you never tried until you find something you enjoy, like I don't know, pilates, even dancing can build some muscle if you do it a lot though you'd have to eat more to maintain since it burns a ton of kcal
