Lots of sugar, without the positive things you would get from actually eating a fruit whole (fiber).
It's okay to have some if you have low blood sugar or love it and really want something sweet but it isn't really a health food.
Will spike your blood sugar and won't keep you full- almost empty calories, although not quite as bad as soda
>>
>>12251765

It has large amounts of sugar and your body will process it as fat

Fruit is meant to be eaten individually not in juice

Ugh, i've been stuck on a bmi of 22 for about 3 months now.
I had a bmi of 29 about a year ago and my goal is 20, I eat about 3 meals a day (mostly healthy) and do cardio maybe every other day.
How do I lose the last 10lbs?
>>
>>12251888
Eat two meals a day, or eat three meals a day but eat about 2/3 as much at each sitting. Just in general, eat less.

I feel like this really isn't as complicated as you're making out to be.

its not about the "zero days" its about consistently eating less than you consume.

If you consume 1600 kcal daily, then eat 1300-1400 daily and you will still lose weight without feeling like shit

Anyone else find it the harder to do IF the less volume they eat?

Not in the sense that you get more hungry but the stomach kinda gets smaller faster during the fasting period and you get physically uncomfortable at much smaller portions
Like if I eat the same portions regularly I can easily fit 3 liters of food at once and feel completely fine but if it's only a cup or less I'm gonna struggle and have to spread it over 2+ hours in small snacks because otherwise I just feel sick

Like I know your stomach gets less elastic the less you eat but it seems like it gets worse exponentially rather than linearly
>>
>>12252384
Is that a problem?
>>
>>12252400
Not much but it makes meals kinda a pain in the ass and is kinda weird, you'd think human bodies would be smart enough not to sabotage your attempts to eat when you're starving

On the other hand I do loose more on a smaller intake with a smaller fasting window so it's not a problem goal wise, that's why I don't bother alternating or anything

No, but carbs are less satiating (so you're more likely to stay hungry or crave stuff), and you will likely develop some nutrient deficiencies that may harm your health or looks significantly, and/or may promote cravings (which can lead to binging).

So short term probably not, but long term it's good to have some variety.

>>
>>12253548
By eating low cal food like popcorn and fruits/veggies. You can eat an amazing amount of food for very small amounts of calories (7.5 cups of air-popped popcorn is like 120 calories, then just add franks or something for flavor). Things like blueberries and apple are great for sweet cravings. If you're like me and crave chocolate though, dark chocolate can be fairly good for the calories if you get something that's like 70+% cacao.

Since you like rice, tofu, and soy sauce, you could try some other Asian flavours- make a simple stir fry with veggies maybe? Or try miso soup- you can also use the paste for other things

When you're doing 23-1, does eating at diner time instead of breakfast make you lose less weight? I heard so but is it true?
>>
>>12254755
The time you eat doesn't matter, it's all about how many calories you consume when you eat.
Intermittent fasting works for weight loss because it restricts the amount of time when you are eating, meaning that you can fit less calories in (although you still need to count your calories as some people can get hungry and go overboard).
>>
>>12253458

>>12254766
I’ve also read that when-the-eating-hours-are is important for weight loss. If you have your eating window in the daytime you are losing more weight than having it in the evening. And the cause is that insulin release is greater in the evening, at identical meals.

This study I think it says it all: the study compared the effect of eating a large breakfast versus a large dinner: both groups ate 1.400 calories, BF group lose 8.7 kg, D group lose 3.6 kg. So yes, the time of your eating window is essential for weight loss.

“So what this study did was to randomly assign two groups of overweight women to eating a large breakfast (BF group) or a large dinner (D group). Both ate 1400 calories/day, and the macronutrient composition of each diet was matched – only the timing of the largest meal was changed. While both groups lost weight, the BF group was clearly superior for both weight loss and waist size (important measure of visceral fat) by almost 2.5 times (-8.7 kg vs -3.6 kg).”

Extras from Dr. Fung’s article: Circadian Rhythms – Fasting
https://intensivedietarymanagement.com/circadian-rhytms-fasting-17/

And here is the link for the whole study: High caloric intake at breakfast vs. dinner differentially influences weight loss of overweight and obese women.
http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/oby.20460/epdf

Another 2 studies I found in this article in The Washington Post: Why eating late at night may be particularly bad for you and your diet.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/why-eating-late-at-night-may-be-particularly-bad-for-you-and-your-diet/2015/08/24/ad8b85ac-2583-11e5-b77f-eb13a215f593_story.html

cont.

Extras:
“Two recent studies have shed new light on the potential impact of timing. In a study of 420 overweight or obese people published in 2013, those who ate their major meal after 3 p.m. lost less weight during a 20-week weight-loss program than those who ate that main meal before 3 p.m. — even when the amount they ate, slept and exercised was the same.

“This is the first study to show that eating later in the day ... makes people lose less weight, and lose it slower,” even when the amount people ate, slept and exercised was the same, says the study’s lead author, Marta Garaulet, a professor of physiology at the University of Murcia in Spain. “It shows that eating late impairs the success of weight-loss therapy.” In the 2013 study, the early eaters lost 22 pounds, the late eaters only 17.

In a subsequent small study of healthy women published this year, Garaulet and her team showed that when participants ate lunch after 4:30 p.m., they burned fewer calories while resting and digesting their food than they did when they ate at 1 p.m. — even though the calories consumed and level of activity was the same.

What’s more, when the participants ate late, they couldn’t metabolize, or burn off, carbohydrates as well as when they ate earlier. They also had decreased glucose tolerance, which can lead to diabetes. (The two-week study did not track whether the women gained or lost weight.)”

thanks! i will consider some of these

and any tips on sallads? how do you make your favorite sallad?
>>
>>12254819
Chop red onion, leave to marinate in a bit of red wine vinegar+salt in the fridge while you do the other steps.
Chop up cucumber, tomato, maybe some lettuce/parsley, maybe some olives.
Add everything into a bowl, mix.
Dress with the red wine vinegar marinade, or balsamic vinegar mixed with mustard (and maybe olive oil).
It's not the best salad out there but you get a lot for low calories so I like to fill up on it for volume and vitamins.

I'm also a fan of avocado+tomato+cilantro+salt+pepper+lemon or lime juice.

Somewhat lazy post today guys, I'm a bit short on time. Not sure if any of you will recognize me by now but I plan to post here every fortnight until I feel that I've lost enough weight. I haven't quite decided how much is enough yet but I guess we'll see when we get there.

I haven't weighed myself today so I might do that tomorrow. I feel happier with my body already but it's still a LONG way from what I would like it to be. Still, I'm making progress.

the easiest way to get thinner and stay thinner is to slowly decrease the amount of sugar in your diet until a lot of shit is too sweet for you
this also lets you enjoy more refined flavours easily, such as unsweetened tea or coffee, dry wine etc. instead of putting tons of sugar in everything killing the taste
also regular exercise obviously helps

Well my point with the potatoes without seasoning is that, if you're only ever eating it with seasoning, it's not as though you actually LIKE the potatoes/fries in the first place, is it? It's that you like whatever sauce it is you're putting on them instead. I dunno, once that occurred to me fries and potato chips lost a lot of the appeal. If I only like them for the salt, why bother with the potato, or any of it really since I wouldn't eat salt alone?

You've already posted an image of your food and made a fuck ton of inane comments. I can't think of a single reason why you wouldn't just post a picture of your torso, given how relevant it is to the subject of this thread and what you've been posting about.

But that won't happen because you are a fat tub of lard, roleplaying as a functioning human being on the internet in order to escape from reality.
>>
>>12254708
>>12255312
It's not about vague health like "you'll be healthier if you exercise", it's about staying a functional human being

If really you can't eat otherwise you can limit the damage by adding vitamin pills and some protein powder (you can try logging what you eat in cronometer if you don't know what you miss), but you should try to make the food healthier, like make rice only a half of your food instead most

I don't know why you're lazy (it's very non descriptive) but it might also be worth looking into depression depression treatment

Hello,

kinda intimidated to post but here goes.

Im looking for some advice to just straight up lose weight, im a lazy cunt so im not a fan of cardio, but i am willing to do exerice that i can do indoors, preferably home.

I used to be skinny, but then I stopped growing and have only gained weight.
Im a male,192cm at 97kg.
The majority of my excess weight has gone into my thighs, ass and some of it to my belly.
I ignored the issue until i started browsing /fa/ which inspired me to start dressing better, but i think also having a nice body is very important.

So help me /thinspo/, what can I do? What sort of diet can I do, is there an exercise routine I can do without going to the track or gym?
>>
>>12255868
Yeah, and perfume was invented by Egyptians to hide the stench of sweat caused by living in fucking Egypt and not showering. What's your point?
>>
>>12255897
calculate your TDEE online
consume less calories than you expend (usually -500 each day in order for consistent weight loss)
you will HAVE to count calories to do this. the whole reason you began to gain weight in the first place is you had no idea what you were putting into your body
exercise is not necessary in the slightest, although doing any form of cardio may help speed up the process. you cannot lose weight in only one area, that is impossible.
>>
>>12255897
I am losing weight consistently and I do zero exercise on a daily basis just by doing low carb/high fat meals, and being conscientious of the amount of calories that I eat.

I've recently been trying to exercise more, but I also hate the idea of going to place to exercise and having to see other people, so I generally go road biking if I want to exercise.
>>
Can I get a discord link I need to not eat
>>
>>12255897
A lot of the people in here losing weight don't do any exercise at all. When it comes to straight-up losing weight, it's 90% diet and 10% exercise. In other words: while you're losing weight, try to get some kind of exercise, but don't think of it as your primary method of shedding pounds. If you really want to include an exercise plan and you don't want to run, I'll recommend maybe getting a punching bag: cardio is going to be the best type of exercise for burning fat, and a punching bag is something you can do in the garage. A jump rope would also work, or you could run on the sidewalk.

>What sort of diet can I do?
You'll hear a lot of talk about calories in, calories out (CICO), which is true to an extent and is a good place to start. Download a calorie tracker like Lose It! or My Fitness Pal and start recording everything you eat. EVERYTHING. This will, at worst, start helping you realize just how much calories certain foods are. You might also want to look at Intermittent Fasting or One Day, One Meal (IF and ODOM) plans, because some people find better success with those than pure CICO. Either way, eating more fat and less carbohydrates will help you meet those goals. (Protein, the third macronutrient, is also good but not as good as fat).

thanks for the info, i really wanna get my skinny self back.

so just if i wanted i could lose weight just dieting and jumping rope for i guess, an hour a day?

How do I go around to counting calories, most of the food i eat doesnt come with a label.

What are some replacements or food/drinks i can carry around with me to sate my hunger, because I can imagine its gonna be hard at the start.

Honestly I may be lazy about exercise but Im stubborn enough to do some hard dieting. Is that smart? To just straight up cut the amount of meals I have?

>so just if i wanted i could lose weight just dieting and jumping rope for i guess, an hour a day?
Of course. How else are you gonna do it? And seriously, don't consider the jumping rope a serious part of it. The best way to make exercise effective is to find a physical activity you actually enjoy, like a sport or something, and then just do that.
>How do I go around to counting calories eating foods without labels?
If you're cooking your own food, that's terrific. All you have to do is measure the food you're eating and google the stats for the ingredients/meal or just enter the food you're eating into one of those apps we told you about (this is one of the things they're most useful for, I find). A lot of anons here weigh their food on a small kitchen scale in order to be as precise as possible, and I recommend it. Knowing just how much you're eating of what is a powerful tool in getting the body you want.
If your food doesn't come with a label because you're mostly eating from restaurants, that might be a bit trickier to lose weight on.
>What are some replacements or food/drinks i can carry around with me to sate my hunger, because I can imagine its gonna be hard at the start.
Nuts have high calories, but they're very satiating. If you start eating a diet with more fat in it and less carbs, you will find yourself being hungry much less frequently. Drinking more water is also going to help with hunger -- sometimes when people are hungry it's simply because they're dehydrated, not because they actually need to eat something.
>>
>>12255813
>wish your average asian had a butt
They do. The thing is that the asian skeleton has a more "flat" pelvis zone. The rest have it slightly curved, making it look like they have bigger butts.
>>
>>12255848
This is me. My heart is beating pretty fast today... What's up with that.
>>
>>12256005
>How would I go about doing that?
Eating a diet high in fat (more red meat, butter, etc.) and low in carbohydrates (anything with sugar, white bread, potatoes, etc.) will keep you sated for much longer. Some people use this to go on intermittent fasts, or periods where you just don't eat anything. Literally all you have to do to IF is refrain from eating anything for a longer period of time than you would normally. One popular way of doing it is in 16/8 days: you have 16 hours where you fast, and 8 hours in which you're allowed to eat more-or-less normally (although eating more fat will make the fasts easier). Other people find eating only one large meal every day simpler and more flexible.

>Is coffee good for sating hunger?
Black coffee has negligible calories in it. If you have to add something, add cream with fat in it. Some people, apparently, add coconut oil or butter and other weird shit. I don't know, I just drink it black, but either way as long as you don't douse it in sugar and stick whipped cream on top coffee is great for satiation.
>salt crackers?
I'm less confident about those, as I'd imagine they have more carbs in them, so I'd just stick to coffee if I were you.
>>
>>12255897

800 calories is not a lot if that's your daily intake

>>12256005

When doing intermittent fasting you only eat after a certain amount of time for example you eat every 12 hours, every 18 hours or if you want fast results you eat every 24 hours(This one was very effective for me). And you eat on a calorie deficit for example if your TDEE is 2800 calories you will have to eat 500 or 1000 calories less to lose weight. But that doesn't mean you can eat anything, you will have to eat healthy and completely quit sugar and I mean completely, no artificial sweeteners, only stevia.

Also have at least two cheat days every month to leep your metabolism going.

Yeah, I'm actually in the same boat there. At the end of the semester I'm going to have a shit ton of meals left on my plan but apparently there's a way to donate those on my campus so I'm just going to use that I think.
I use Lost It!, but it seems to me like most people ITT use My Fitness Pal instead, so that might be better. I'd try both if I were you and see which interface you prefer, because I kind of doubt there's much of a difference in how they actually work. The important thing is to be aware of what you're eating and how much.
>trail mix
Like that other guy said, if you eat enough fats you won't get hungry during the day. It'll be important to only eat when you're actually hungry from now on so ideally you'll curb the instinct to snack entirely. For some people, eating throughout the day is an unnecessary habit, so if that's the case you'll have to kick it.
>Is there such a thing as going overboard with coffee?
Honestly? I don't know that either. I personally try and stick to no more than about 20oz per day, or about 1 large to-go coffee (16oz) plus one teacup in the cafeteria (4oz) with my meal, but that's mostly so I can sleep normally. I also stick to water and tea on the weekends. Tea is as good as coffee for curbing hunger pangs.

For people underweight, do you still have a butt and boobs?

I'm 95 lbs, 5'5". I have a bit of my boobs left, but a pretty flat ass. I need to start eating more but I'm so weak now and don't know how to start gaining muscle in order to get a better butt. I'm pretty scared that I'll start gaining in my stomach since that's where I gain all my weight.

Does anyone have any personal experience with this?

>I'm pretty scared that I'll start gaining in my stomach since that's where I gain all my weight.

Well I already eat so little (700kcal) that I'd hardly notice a difference. I'm feeling a bit better and got a 20 minute workout in fwiw.

I figured that was pretty standard. I guess my question was more about how to start from literally zero when I can barely do a squat. I am that weak. Using weights are out of the question at this point. I used to be able to do them (with bodyweight) even I was even more thin but I stopped working out because I was stupidly unhealthy from cardio and not eating enough.

Thank you for the advice.

Honestly I'd just go with the flow, like if you don't feel like exercising don't bother, you can always start after you reach your goal and start maintaining, no need to introduce the whole package at once, for fat loss diet is more important than exercise anyway, you should want to do it for health more than anything

Personally I wouldn't bother if I could sit on my ass all day and not feel uncomfortable, it doesn't do anything for me depression wise and stuff, what's the point
