no, I feel like it was overdone in the 90s. In my experience, most of the guys I knew wearing them back then no longer do now. They've humbled, matured, and stopped wearing them in the process.

However, there are a few dudes I knew then who still wear them now. Sounds like a bad stereotype but they've become deadbeats with nothing to show for themselves. Despite that, they seem awfully proud about something.

By all means, wear them, just don't be/come a douchebag.
