Anyone else have this problem? I have like a weird layer of hair that doesn't ever seem to grow thick. I usually just shave it off but I'm just letting it grow to see what happens. Any tips on this?

It's called miniaturization, your hairline is receding. See a dermatologist asap to see what your options are if you wanna keep the hair you have left
>>12228483
>thin wiry hair
sorry bout the shit genetics bro

Nah my hairline isn't receding. This has been like this for like 9 months now. I never really noticed it since I always had my hair short until last summer.

well case closed then
miniaturization, like the other poster said.

There's no point in being in denial about this anon, go make an appointment with a dermatologist so you can save your hair before you look like George Costanza

i've always heard this referred to as "baby hair"? and i've always had a ridiculous amount of it (pic related (i'm sorry it's terrifyingly edited)).
black people sometimes style theirs in a way that accents it (google "black people baby hair" i guess) and i think it looks really cool. either way, don't shave it............... if nothing else, it can soften a weird hairline and make your hair look thicker.

that makes a bit more sense since you could say I'm mixed. Here is a pic of me last summer when I started to grow my hair out.

DONT LISTEN TO THEM. THESE ARE JUST BABY HAIRS. SOME PEOPLE HAVE THEM. YOU'RE NOT GOING BALD.
>>12228687
i seeeee, yes. let it grow out! once it gets long enough, it becomes wispy and grows to frame your face well. you're fighting an unnecessary battle.
>>12228688
you are not going bald. i've had this since i was born and i have unusually thick hair for a white person. it is standard to have a layer of vellus hair at your hairline; in fact, lack of vellus hair can indicate a number of health issues. that being said, some people just don't have it, so it's not used in diagnoses or anything.
if you're balding AND the amount of vellus hair (baby hair) you see on your hairline progressively increases, you may be balding. but lack of hair is the diagnostic indicator...not a surplus of vellus growth.

This.
Oddly enough, I never had them until I grew my hair out to shoulder-length around 19. I'm 22 now keep it super short now but still can't shake baby hairs growing in.
t. full head of insanely thick hair
>Muh bebe hurrs
They are sacred in the black community.

It always begins with denial

Hey anon just realized your the first person i've seen with similar hair to me. im mixed too and have a few weak strands of hair like this, i think its normal.
Also please dear god tell me what you do with your hair because i look homeless right now and my hair is just a messy afro.

I'm not really mixed tho lol. I'm Colombian from both parents but I look and have mixed features. What I do with my hair is use a leave in conditioner after I'm done showering. I also used to get an afro until November when by chance I just put gel on one day and noticed that my hair curled. Now what I use is Garnier leave in conditioner. (I might try something else soon) My routine is shampoo and condition 2 times a week, every day after getting out the shower I put on leave-in and I get curls. The pic above is old, this is a more current hair pic.
