Nice. Took me a few weeks to get used to it, but now it's so easy for me. I don't get hungry all day, then like an hour or so before my eating window starts I get hungry. Plus I gained like an hour and a half of my life back by not fucking around with breakfast, snacks and lunch.

>>
>>12226904
Depends. How much extra did you eat? Running for half an hour can burn a little more than a chocolate bar for me, so if you binged like 500 calories you're going to have a hard time working that off.

Working out is always a good idea because working out is good for you in general. Even if you don't burn all the calories you ate, you still make a dent in it to mitigate some of the damage and you will be doing good by your body.

Whenever I'm stressed or anxious I can't do IF without drinking almost 2L of diet soda. >>12226983 what >>12227009 said. I eat 700-800 calories Sunday through Thursday. On Fridays I eat up to 1300 and on Saturday I eat maximum 1600 (on fridays and Saturday's I'm usually spending time with family or friends). I count those two as cheat days. Then on Sunday's I start right back again on 700-800. I've been losing weight consistently for the past two weeks. And the best part? Those cheat days become something to look forward to and motivate me. As long as you're monitoring how many calories you eat still (don't binge and eat up to 3000 or some shit have a little self control..) a day or two of eating more than you usually do will not harm you at all.

Good luck anon!

8 days out of the month. I usually eat stuff I can't eat during the week. Like pizza or pasta. I feel amazing after. However, during my cheat days I only eat that one cheat meal and nothing else. So if I want pizza I'll eat three slices of pizza, exercise, then fast the rest of the day. I never gain so I'm pretty satisfied.

I've recently come to the conclusion that the whole exercising/weightlifting/bodybuilding industry is enabling people to eat more than humanly necessary, to the point where the amounts are beyond gluttonous.

I don't mean to spread this mindset - but how disgusting is it, that people eat 3-4x (of not more) of their recommended daily allowance, with the reason that "it's for muscle gain"?

How fucking retarded is it, that we live in a world where muscle/strangth/bodymass for some reason is the excuse to over eat?

I have a hard time trying to verbally convey my message - but I'm trying to say it's disgusting that this reason alone is enough, for people to justify over-consumption of natural resources.

This. I mean, at least the body builders care about their health and looks to an extent.
>>
>>12228134

>I guess it compensates.

It really doesn't.

Most bulimics end up fat again or with serious health problems. Anorexics on the other hand can still be functional if they don't overdo it.
>>
>>12228147
Most bulimics do because if a 'bulimic' gets underweight they get diagnosed with Anorexia b/p subtype. Which is why so many people get confused by the "most bulimics gain or maintain" statistic. Technically, plenty of people still lose weight through purging. (Though it's still not some kind of diet method or a good idea.)
>>
>>12228161
Who is this? She's so qt
>>
>>12228147
I'd like to add, as a former bulimic, that being bulimic doesn't even make you skinny in most cases, since it's usually coupled with binge-eating.

Unless they're also anorexic while they purge, but I would say most of them aren't.
>>
>>12228171

I went through a anorexic/bulimic phase. Wasted lots of money on food just to purge it afterwards.

Now I just restrict and maintenance trying to stay at a comfortable weight.

2-4 cheat days a month depending on well I'm doing. I usually eat carbs because that's the only thing I'd crave that would make me cheat. So a bowl of frosted whear with milk. Last time it was girl scout cookies because I bought them for a friend but I got the wrong ones so I was gonna have to eat them eventually.

Somewhere in between. Lately, since I've been getting such progress with OMAD + low carb/high fat more satisfied than guilty. 1. I'm already losing weight fast than I set as my minimum which is 2.5lbs a week and 2. If I wasn't hungry I wouldn't need to cheat so its obviously something my body needs for some reason. I used to feel like shit when I was losing weight slower because it felt like a bigger setback.

I once brought up that I was eating less to lose weight to a friend of mine like this, and he told me that I ought to lift weights instead of eating below TDEE "to turn the fat into muscle." Is this broscience? He's a good friend but I'm not sure that I trust him with the sciences, and in any case I only want to build muscle once I get my BF% down pretty far. pic unrelated
>>
>>12228231

Yes.

I didn't notice that you have a couple stretch marks. Like I said before you chest hair is aesthetic af so it looks good short. It's practically the straight girl ideal who likes semi-hairy men. I don't know about gay guys because although I'm gay only really like bi and "straight" guys but I think you should have no problem finding normal guys who like it.
>>
>>12228273

>he told me that I ought to lift weights instead of eating below TDEE "to turn the fat into muscle." Is this broscience?

Well if you eat big you get big

Most bodybuilders I know binge a lot on proteins and vegetables, and my cardio friends eat a lot of carbs and fruits.

If you really want to get into lifting you should get a personal trainer. A lot of gyms these days offer free trainer sessions for a few months for new members, either that or get a workout buddy.
>>
>>12228034
I don't have cheat days I just try to average below 800kcal/day

>>12228273
I don't really get what he meant, eating on maintenance and lifting? Or trying to bulk and getting fat loss that way?
Recomp is a thing but you usually just alternate between bulking and cutting in short periods of time (days)
You can go from average to ripped with low BF% and having more muscle makes it easier to loose fat but at the end of the day you still need to cut

Cardio is fun as hell, actually. I did C25K and just doing one or two 5Ks per week always makes me feel pretty good afterward. Fuck, does that mean I should be eating more carbs after all? I've been cutting them in lieu of fats from advice here.

I'm kinda like this because I did figure skating for a while.

Basically just do a lot of lower body strength training(? I think is what it's called.) At my skating rink, we had a box with two different levels, and you would do box jumps and other things to jump higher. Figure skating does require you to push off (where you push back and out to get speed), but the hardest part was getting enough height for the jumps (which meant you did have good thighs and butt, but mostly huge calfs). We also did a bunch of core exercises (to keep steady) that left you hurting to breathe for a couple of days :)

From what I hear, the moves in dancing are similar to figure skating, so I wouldn't be surprised if dancers also tended to have this body type, although I think that they tend to have a more developed upper body/core (the extent of figure skating was just holding your arms up and bringing them in mid-air) and generally more lithe, figure skating is about more short bursts of effort in between a bunch of cardio, where I think dancing is much more into the cardio side of things

diff anon, but this video is pretty fantastic, thanks!

anyways, I've recently gone on a low-carb high fat diet (i have had really high triglycerides ever since I was young) but my family has been basically freaking out over it

I'm asian so naturally white rice is a staple for every meal so they tend to freak out over me not eating any white rice (they say you need rice to ensure you will have success in your future), but my mom is more down to earth and tried warning me that some people tend to get really depressed when going on the atkins diet

I've looked around, and all material basically says that you should be experiencing cognitive benefits, but there has been at least one dubious study that has recorded depressive results. My pet theory is that some people's moods are much more sensitive to their gut floura, but have you heard anything about this?

I've read from a lot of people that their mental state improves with low carb/high fat either in the beginning or after they become "keto-adapted" after 12-14 weeks. But someone people responded really poorly to it right off the bat. I don't know their stats so all I can say is most people get a lot of cognitive benefits for memory, concentration, mood, energy etc and some don't or feel worse.

Be sure to get adequate magnesium, potassium, and sodium. For me, I only need to supplement magnesium, 1/4 a tsp a day otherwise I get stiff muscles.

What the FUCK. I tracked everything I ate. God DAMMIT this is so frustrating. What am I even supposed to do now!? I think Lose It! might be calculating my TDEE too high because I may have put "light activity" or something on there as my base energy-burning level, but I can't find anywhere to set it to straight up "nonactive" and blaming the app seems suspect. I am impossibly pissed off right now. FUCK.

Would a multivitamin take care of this (I already take one regularly) or do I need to get some more supplements

My multivitamin says 10%dv of magnesium and no potassium, for example.
>>
>>12228686
Depends on your diet
Vitamins are basically food, if you take too little you're gonna have the same problems as if you eat too little, since they add up to the same pool
10%DV means it's 10% of what you need to eat (or what an average person needs), do you get 90% DV magnesium from food? Probably not so you'd need an additional supplement focused on magnesium, but it depends

People who do it, what's your day like?
>>
>>12228761
That also seems unlikely, though. How often are scales wrong? Even if it was wrong, it'd have to be wrong by nearly 10 pounds to indicate that I'd lost weight.
>>12228764
I mean, that has to be the solution, but I've logged everything I've eaten and I've come out of each week with a caloric deficit on top of my already set budget.

So either I'm recording stuff incorrectly (possible), my app is calculating my TDEE incorrectly (possible? Like I said before, I'm worried about the parameters being off), or the scale is way off (perhaps possible but very unlikely)

The only reason this bothers me is that if the first one is correct (that I haven't been recording enough), then I don't really know how to correct it because as far as I'm aware I HAVE been recording everything.
>>
>>12229377

>what's your day like?

If you're doing it make sure you have something to keep you preoccupied. I have a job so that keeps me from eating.

>>12229392
>How often are scales wrong?

Public scale like at clinics and doctors offices are wrong all the fucking time. I lost 10 lbs but according to my doctor's office, that just got a new scale, I had only lost 4. Scales are basically only good if perfectly callibrated otherwise its only useful for relativity "Do I weigh more or less than I did before according to this scale?" Only a fool would switch scales and take it at face value.

>my app is calculating my TDEE incorrectly (possible?

TDEE calculators are bullshit.
>>
>>12229431
Experimentally
>>
>>12229431
Eat what feels like a little food. after 7 days from starting weigh yourself again and multiply ever lb you loss by 3500 and divide by 7. That's how many calories below your TDEE you're eating a day. Do it again the following week to make sure it wasn't a fluke or water weight or you just failed to poop that week. There. Now you know your actual TDEE.
>>
>>12229442
>Scales are basically only good if perfectly callibrated otherwise its only useful for relativity "Do I weigh more or less than I did before according to this scale?"
I figure that visiting the clinic again more regularly and checking my weight will be useful for this, at the very least.
>TDEE calculators are bullshit.
You know what? I believe it. I did manage to lose a ton of weight with this thing initially, but that was before when I was really mostly just learning about portion sizes in the first place. It makes sense that being closer to lower weights would make it harder to lose weight. I think.

What am I supposed to do now, though? Just start eating sub-1000 calories every day? I guess I'm just unsettled as to where I ought to go from here.

I do:
Food window: 11am - 7pm

Depending on what I'm doing at the gym will depend on what my diet is like. It tends to be high protein but alternating with high fat or carb. With my carbs I do low GI or heavy breads like traditional dark Rye or pumpernickel. I aim to eat 1000 a day but I'm ok with going up to 1300 on my heavy lifting day.

The tricky part is making it work for my social life as my partner and I eat out alot. Depending on what I ate previously or if I know I have a family event coming up I'll do a 24 hour fast

Current stats:
H: 5.10
W: 154
Goal: 130, aiming for late April event but I also go by measurements and clothing fit so that goal might change

Lots of models in the "high-fashion skinny" range
end up losing their periods too, especially if they have to keep up being skinny, and they aren't naturally skinny.
Basically, if you want to have a kid, at the weight where you aren't having a period, it'll be bad for you. So most models just eat more and gain weight until they get their period back when they want to get pregnant iunno. Long-term effects might be harder conception of a child.

You look great. Nice shape, thin legs. Wouldn't say you need to go any lower. If you stay there, keep your period, you can be healthy and /thinspo/ for life. If you want to edge down lower just do it really slowly so you can catch it before your period goes away.

>>
>>12231198
You didn't answer the question. Where are you from that people don't say "my president"?

Honestly, I think you're getting seriously psyched out over a simple possessive pronoun. When I say "my lamp" it's not like I'm worshiping it, I'm referring to a lamp that I own. When I say "my mom" I'm talking about a family member of mine, not a deity. Why is referring to one's government using one's usual possessive pronouns so freaky, considering that you presumably don't also find these other, identical uses strange?

this I'm not arguing. There are worse scenarios: at least this way, food is eaten. Waste is of course worse than over-consumption...
I'm just saying lately I've changed my mindset on this matter - whilst anorexic behaviour may lead to wasting food, leisure weightlifting is another form of food waste. Sure, if they don't eat they won't grow/lift harder, but it's still a darn waste.

If anyone can change my view I'd love to hear.

So why is it a waste in the first place? Isn't it best for people to be healthy? Eating plenty of food and using that mass to grow stronger has a number of utilitarian benefits, utilitarian in the sense that muscles are useful (when have you ever been TOO STRONG to do something?) and in the sense that they make the people who grow the muscles happier about themselves. So what makes you call their consumption of food "waste" in the first place?

Yeah, probably.
I always wanted to try Soylent, but I lived in Portugal and they didn't ship it there. Now I'm living in England, and once I planned on moving alone, I started searching for basic meals, since I'm in an acomodation block at work. Then I remembered Soylent, but they didn't ship to UK, so I searched for alternatives. That's when I found this beautiful thing. I only shop for some snacks, like dry fruits, cinnamon, some low cal biscuits/cookies and yogurt.
I have it as a drink during the day at work, and in the evening I add less water and mix with whatever I feel like. That way I still chew on something.

>when have you ever been TOO STRONG to do something?
say you're a dad of 3 kids and you have to carry them and all their shit around. That's natural strength anyone obtains at that age through "combat" so to speak.

Say you work in a warehouse and have to lift boxes every now and then: lo and behold you'll gain that strength naturally.

Weightlifting is never necessary in daily life.

Yes it is more healthy to eat more than tdee + lift weights, but I see too many lazy shits just scoff down 3 people's worth of food and do moderate lifting.

>So what makes you call their consumption of food "waste" in the first place?
it's more than their body needs.

But to do so, you'll have to eat enough to gain that muscle as well as enough to sustain your previous lifestyle, so they'll have to eat more. Therefore, they're not "overeating" or wasting food in the first place.
>it's more than their body needs.
If their body needs to grow muscle, it is as much as the body needs. I'll bet that you happen to be eating more than your body "needs," because I'm willing to bet you don't look like Ghandi (or want to).

The official website even has a link for a propper calculator that tells you how many calories you should take according to your goals. If you want to lose weight, just use that. In my case, I'm thin, but I can consume 1700 kcal per day in order to lose 1lb per week. Because I take Huel in order just t satisfy myself, I end up only getting around 1300 kcal max per day.
Should I add that I have a pretty physical job and I still feel good after 3 months having it for breakfast and lunch (and dinner in the past 1 week)?

>>12231917
Yeah, Huel apparently is the one that tastes the best. It's not as good at normal temperature with only a bit of water so it looks like oats, but it's nice if cold. I get the vanilla flavor and I'm thinking about buying some of the flavors.

>>The official website even has a link for a proper calculator that tells you how many calories you should take according to your goals. If you want to lose weight, just use that.
And exactly how would it help?
They have the same calculator that every other site and it tells me what i already know, that I need to eat 500-800 kcal a day to loose at a reasonable pace

Micronutrients in huel are calculated for 2000, anyone who eats much less without additional supplementation risks deficiencies (arguably they'll also based on NRV for an average person and if you need less calories you typically also need less micros but I doubt it helps much on a 1000kcal deficit)

On the flipside it has enough protein to work on a low kcal diet assuming you only eat that little because you're tiny

>I'm thin, but I can consume 1700 kcal per day in order to lose 1lb per week.

That's the problem right there. Unless you do nothing all day every day, your body will just get to a point where it will just shut down for repair.
It's better if you get more calories and do more exercice. That way you won't be a skelly nor a skinyfat.
But to each his own, of course.
I've never really worried about what I eat, and somehow I'm good. I guess it's because I've always left a bigger gap than most people between last and first meals. Dinner would finish at 7:30pm and breakfast would be at 8am.

Hey sorry for taking a while to reply. Honestly most of my weightloss was over a period of 4-5 months. But I approached it all wrong. I lost a lot of fat but I also lost a lot of muscle. I looked super gross; thin but wide hips.

The best way to go about it is (and I am sure you have heard it all before, but this is what I do now and what showed me the best results):

- Calculate your TDEE and plan to eat at 80% of that. You can go lower but for guys it really isn't recommended to go lower than 1500 calories a day.

- Download MyFitnessPal and LOG EVERYTHING. Trust me it might sound like a chore but it is a great way of removing all uncertainity (aside from some margin of error). And it is almost kinda fun actually. I see it as being given a certain number of "points" every morning. I can eat anything I want that fits my macros. And I KNOW I am gonna be losing fat. If you go over somedays, don't worry, just try to eat slightly less next few days.

- Make sure to get at least 1g of protein per lb of bodyweight. Or if you are really big, per lb of your ideal bodyweight. Try to get enough fats as well (really important for hormones and shizz and your libido). Carbs for energy (ideally before and after working out).

- LIFT! Look up either ICF 5X5 or the beginner PPL on reddit. Lift hard and lift heavy.

- Always weigh your self every morning right after using the bathroom. If the scale doesn't budge for a few days don't worry. It can be water weight. If you don't see the scale move for a few weeks, first make sure you are tracking your calories accurately (weigh and measure everything...don't eyeball). If you are positve you are tracking everything accurately, lower your calories by ~100 calories and rinse and repeat.

- Drink lots of water. Since you are eating at a deficit try to eat alot of veggies to get enough fiber (to keep everything moving...). I don't really eat a lot of veggies so I add a few servings of whole psyllium husk to my protein shakes.
>>
>>12232499
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIuj-oMN-Fk
>>
>>12232529

- Avoid fasting or restricting too much (especially if you accidentally go over your daily allotted calories by too much). It just turns into a really bad cycle.

- Lastly, a tip for eating... Look up intermittent fasting if you haven't already. I normally skip breakfast. This lets me eat more for lunch and dinner. If you waste your calories in the morning on stupid shit like pancakes and waffles your insulin will spike and you'll feel even more hungry. Normally I am not even hungry in the morning anyway. If I find I am hungry I just drink a few glasses of water, and it pretty much always goes away! Moreover I avoid snacking. No point in wasting calories on "snacks" that don't really fill me up and just make me more hungry. I eat big lunches and dinners.

I wish someone had told me all of this when I first started. Good luck!
