Well I'd say that your parents are wrong. Those pants are not "not stylish", they're just basic pants.
They fit fine, but I say change the color... I can't see you pulling them off if you can't see how they're not too skinny.
Get some more fit all color like black or something.

You're probably wearing them too long. In shoes, they would bunch up, and you also look like you have an oddly long pair of hips in them. I advise against shirt tucking for the second point, balance things out a bit
