I got a pair of blue JM Weston loafers in Paris last year. Well worth it. I only wear them casually, never with a full suit.

A regular, somewhat casual suit (I wouldn't even wear loafers with a dark business suit), or if they're brown/burgundy loafers, khakis/jeans and a sport coat. Or something even more dressed down like jeans and a polo.
