Do Brits wear penny loafers casually, or is it just Americans and the French?

Brits tend not to.
I got a pair of blue JM Weston loafers in Paris last year. Well worth it. I only wear them casually, never with a full suit.

they're comfy.

It depends where you live, in Manchester a lot of people wear penny loafers casually to uni or even to the shops, it depends whether you can make it work

Best penny loafer options for a yurocuck?

JM Weston model 180.
I have these Johnston & Murphy loafers but need to wear them more often

I ordered a pair just like these and thinking about trying the preppy way with white socks and khakis/cords/jeans
hopefully i can pull it off...
Do you wear them with socks or no?
Going to buy some for a black tie event I got next month
>>12198320
if it's black tie you should definitely wear socks
i don't like the no socks look but that's just my opinion
>>12198311
Should be fine if everything fits you properly

No
No, wrong
Loafers don't go with formalwear, you have to get plain-toe oxfords or (god forbid, don't do this) court pumps for a black tie event.

>Loafers don't go with formalwear
You can wear loafers with a suit
>>12197061
haha
i actually have those exact shoes
in that colour
i'm not british though
>>12198378
Yeah, with a LOUNGE suit. Those aren't formalwear.
You can't wear them with a DJ/white tie, though.

So what would you recommend wearing with loafers?
>>12198320
You're thinking of formal slippers or opera pumps, not loafers. Different beasts.

A regular, somewhat casual suit (I wouldn't even wear loafers with a dark business suit), or if they're brown/burgundy loafers, khakis/jeans and a sport coat. Or something even more dressed down like jeans and a polo.
