I have about 3-4 50% polyester 50% cotton sweaters, and so far they've all pilled up, making them super scratchy and unpleasant to wear. I just got a new one in today, and I want it to avoid the same fate (and fix the others if possible). What do?
can't do anything to them now, but in the future i would recommend washing them less frequently
dry clean
avoid wearing too often, allow fabric to recover from human oils and movement
accept it. sweaters in particular get worn out

TO AVOID PILLING, HANDWASH WITH COLD WATER, WITHOUT DETERGENT —OR ANY OTHER ADDITIVES—, DO NOT WRING, AND HANG DRY.

Yeah I know, but the ones I bought are particularly expensive and I like wearing them when they're soft. I don't want them to become decorations that sit in my closet because I'm worried about making them worse.
just bust out a sweater comb and repair your clothes man
>50% polyester 50% cotton
oh boy, i wonder why this could be happening??
fabrics composed of/with synthetic fibers pill, though some fabrics made of 100% natural fibers can pill depending on structure and user's care

my roommate used to take really shitty care of her clothes and then fix the pilling with something like pic related. i think it's called a fabric shaver.
in the future though you should really hand wash (or at least machine wash/hang dry) things that might pill

Yes yes I know. The sweaters I buy only come in that composition though

Which combs/stones do you recommend?

Cheap razor blade
Pick related. It's just a rough stone that grabs the pills. Probably the same stuff that griddles are scrubbed with, or that's what it smells like.
