Anyone else own this? They're great for cycling in the winter because it does great at repelling water and blocking the wind. The only problem is that it's very thin so it's still cold to wear it in the winter. Any ideas?

How breathable are these? I was thinking of buying this or the packable parka for running.
>>
>>12180058
its a shell. you are meant to wear it alone when its not cold and then when its cold out you put an insulator under it
>>
>>12180069
What would you wear as the insulator? sweater? blazer? hoodie?
>>

It's very breathable. I wouldn't recommend the packable one for the winter, but if you live somewhere warm should be ok for running.

yea fleece sweater would be good. the shell will keep the wind and rain off you and the insulator will soak up all the heat your body makes and keep you warm

It should be fine, I wear wool next to skin layer anyway during winter so unless it's too cold to be outside in general I should be fine.
Might go with the packable, it seems bit more comfortable for running and it't tad cheaper.

It reminds me of a review from Uniqlo where some genius bought a heattech shirt, wore it (and nothing else) outside in sub-zero weather and was annoyed when he felt cold :D

yo looking to buy this. does uniqlo still send out discount codes on their newsletter? heard that it can take 24 hours but i have been waiting ages.

EU site

I have one like this for cycling and I used to wear a heattech long sleeve under a long sleeve then the jacket and in 20 degree weather it would hold up ok. anything under 20 degrees would be cold.

Tried something similar. Heattech under shirt, long sleeve tshirt, long sleeve buttoned flanel and this jacket. I should've added another layer of sweater or a thin hoodie because I was still freezing here in the northeast. Riding in the rain was okay aside from the cold from lack of layers.

I have the uniqlo u version, how long does the hydrophobic coating last for
>>
>>12180398
is this a Uniqlo jacket? I had a different jacket, its from a small brand called "swrve", you should check em out.
>>
>>12180451
does it matter? you could just soak it with some nikwax or something
>>

I have a couple windbrakers like those. Long sleeve merino base layer and a hoodie turns it into a winter jacket.
