Are red wing moc toes good for working in a grocery store?

No, they'll just lay there and not do any of the tasks you assign them.
If you're doing physical work, sure, but they don't seem to me like shoes for a cashier.

they look comfy

got a new pair last week, they will feel like you are wearing concrete blocks on your feet for at least a week of constant wear, then depending on your feet type you might get crazy blisters for a little while at the back. definitely break them in before wearing them to work

Shoes that don't take at least a couple of months to break in won't last very long, and are for effeminate types.
Moc toes generally give your toes a little more room. Once broken in, the Red Wings should last a good five or six years of daily wear.
If you're in the warehouse, go for it. If you're stocking shelves or in the checkout lane, you'd probably want something else.
