OP here. I've recently discovered a custom T-shirt store in an indoor swap meet, which is why I started this thread in the first place: to see what I should get on a T-shirt. Try looking for one in your local indoor swap meet or mall. I wouldn't know much about DIY shirts, so I can't help you there.

I actually made this tee for my gf for Christmas, i made the design and had it printed in chicago,shes a huge adventure time fan
