Dunno, I think that he looked quite good during early 1950s, especially considering the fact that
it was really harsh time for countries of the
Eastern Bloc.
My grandpa is one on the right, at the time he was coach driver, mostly because he wanted to see as much of the western world as he could.

Those are great photos. I imagine your great grandfather job had to be terrible, not
only tough conditions of WWI but also those treatments on injured soldiers.
Did he still worked as a doctor after end of the first war?

Here's some more of my grandfather army photos, here he's riding M-72 army motorcycle
which was basically a soviet copy of german BMW R-71.

Great Great grandfather. Was a labor organizer for the PA railroad (had to go into hiding a few times because big business wasn't a fan of his work). When he was older he served in WW2 as a train conductor/engineer in North Africa and Italy.

He ended up losing his stripes in Italy for refusing to segregate a train car (being a union man, he was more of a progressive of his time). Good to know my family was on the right side of history.

He looks so happy in second photo, that's almost comforting. You have to be proud of him, there's seems to be a good story behind his

Him being a butcher had to be important because of stronger psyche and more immunity to shocking views of war than average citizen.

Nearly every male in my family has his jawline,
cheeckbones and strong eyebrow features, including me. My eyes and nose are different though, but not in a negative way. I believe
that's after my grandmother or mother.
Can't complain.
