The Beckman's are built on the same last as the Blacksmiths but in the Beckman line.

Named after the founder of Red wing shoes they are the highest quality boots available from the company. If you're looking for a pair the Blacksmiths I'm ox blood are glorious.

I'd personally go with a similar pair but all black (no contrast stitching or tan midsoles). All black is just more versatile, and less fedora.

I have a pair of both and the 1k is the inferior boot. If you have the choice between Red Wing and Wolverine, always pick the first. There was a thread a few days ago ("is this the perfect boot" or so, it's still archived) where an anon explained beautifully why.

If you want all black put some shoe cream on the BM's stitching. The sole will blacken over time anyway.

The cork sole is trash though and replacing it all together is expensive compared to only having to replace the vibram part of the Beckman's.
Also the black Blacksmith use special spitfire leather, which doesn't appear to make a difference on the pictures but it does irl.
