They work partially as earplugs so you don't get outside noises if you buy a decent pair.

Doesn't really matter. If you take the subway, or you walk around downtown, most people won't notice the music you're listening--especially since there are many other external noises that could intercept the other people's hearing. Although in quieter areas, it could pose a problem.

Unless you'll be listening to Idioteque by Radiohead hahahhaa (Weird noises emanating from the open speakers)

Get custom mold in ears. The only thing earbuds lack is soundstage which you're not getting with closed backs anyways.

TMA-2 are the best cans I've ever owned. You can customise them exactly to your needs. I use them on long commutes and when I'm DJing.
