well, they're utility boots for flying planes after all. I've seen "civil" versions pop on german ebay with regular soles, but I can't tell whether those are replicas or not. It's made by a company called Reck, whereas the OG pilot boots I see are made by Meindl or Bergmann, which seem to be original suppliers of the Bundeswehr.

anyways, civil boots are sold out everywhere it seems.
