Opinions on Flannels shirts?
Are they just hipster fuel?

Rolled sleeves or?
>>11986327
just avoid the lumberjack colorway

Ask yourself this question in regards to hooded sweatshirts.
Do you see how stupid it sounds.
>>11986354
What im asking is the intial effect seeing someone in a flannel shirt causes.
I see a hooded sweatshirt I think casual/thrown together.
I was just wondering what people think.
>>11986327
not if you're canadian. if you're not, fuck off.
>>11986333
I'd agree on rolled sleeves
>>11986387
Is it just a canadian staple? I didn't know canooks felt so strongly about their shirts.
>>11986414
Full sleeves just seem lumberjack status.

The range of styles which incorporate hoodies is wider than your apparent frame of reference.
It is the same for flannels.
The style of flannel, plus the rest of the fit, plus the person's hair/grooming is what separates hipster from construction worker from dad from gang member from skater/surfer from rural mountain resident from musician etc etc etc.
This is a fashion board and I swear the answer to every fucking low effort non-specific question post like OP's, and whether or not something is effay, is "it fucking depends."

I asked about leather jackets once and everyone flamed the shit out of that.
Fashion is vague in general so sure it depends but I'm just asking opinions not the culture demographic of the flannel shirt.
>>11986537
Be more specific then. Ask about a particular leather jacket or style of leather jacket. Ask about a particular flannel or style/pattern. Vague questions get vague replies.

I'm a fashion dud when it comes to it.
Sorry I suck.

been a staple for a long ass time. in pretty much any picture of my dad from the 70's and 80's he's wearing one.
granted, the flannel shirt, bush beard programmer stereotype is very real in my city but the garment is impervious to it.

for utility wool flannels are amazing, purely for aesthetics they're just okay, they're very versatile and can look anywhere from reclusive to outdoorsy.
