Would prefer less bedrooms and more kitchen, bathrooms, and front rooms.

Thanks. In the UK, north west England so it's not a massive achievement like it would be elsewhere. Still pleases though
Any of you US lads have a decent platform bed? Trying to grab something solid without breaking the bank, but I'd rather not default to the Ikea's MALM and some wood glue.
Pic related to what I'm going for. Doesn't have to be as clean-edged this one, but something in the general shape/style would be acceptable.

>those small tiles behind the stove and sink
Holy fuck that kitchen would be a freaking nightmare to clean. Also, that low-hanging light over your prep area counter would be an incredible pain in the ass too. Not saying it doesn't look good but man.
>>11995571
Ehh. The black and grey kind of looks different but it feels a little cheerless to me. Plus if that concrete isn't smooth as fuck then again, this kitchen is going to be a bitch to clean.
>>11998980
Not sure about the puce backsplash there but at least everything is smooth and looks reasonably cleanable. No idea where the stove/oven or fridge are though, so can't say one way or the other on layout.
>>11998815
>tile behind sink
>plain wall behind stove
I... why? Why not keep the tile going? Stuff is going to splatter on that wall sooner or later if you actually use that kitchen.
I probably sound anal as fuck about cleanability but in a kitchen that's a huge deal. Small tiles and rough surfaces make your life hell when you have to wash them because stuff gets in all the little gaps and pores and whatnot. In general you want smooth, hard surfaces that you can just wipe down- there's a reason commercial kitchens have steel plates over the walls, and only part of it is fire protection.
Other pet peeves for kitchens- cabinets with grooves or indented front panels. These immediately become a pain to clean. Stuff gets into the grooves or onto the little flat parts where the front of the door goes in, and then you have to break out a toothbrush or something to actually get it off.
No hood vents. Just why. Makes life SO much better.
Wonky layouts of appliances. Generally you want a small triangular set of paths between the stove, fridge, and prep area for optimal workflow.
Countertops made of marble or other shitty materials. Again steel is optimal choice, but it probably looks too 'industrial' to a lot of people- but at least pick something sturdy that doesn't stain or crack or whatever.

1) most cheap modernist furniture will be at ikea
2)if you can't find something you like, make an ikea hack of a preexisting piece
3)make a simple design all by yourself
>>11999959
These kitchens follow form over function, but there are certainly ways to make a very useful kitchen beautiful.

either gay or a nigga who became rich somehow but didn't develop any taste.
So, I want to do something with my room, maybe one of you has an idea: I'm living in an attic, so the walls on the left and right sight are shifted in a 45° angle so my ceiling is only straight in a line in the middle of the roof, leading from the northern window towards the sofa. The window in the east wall is like 75cm wide and a meter long and tilted like the wall. Like a sixth of the room is the stairs, in the upper right side of the picture. On the whole left wall is a small closet, like 75cm high and right over the closet the wall starts to tilt. The black box in the upper left half of the room is my computer, the black stripe on top of it is my screen.
Under the stair is my desk and my chair, then there is my sleeping sofa and a nightstand.
So my plan is to get all of that shit out of my room, except for the TV, the PC and my sofa. What I need is storage for my cameras, CD's and two guitars.
Some inspiration or ideas?
