Also, you don't need to have an expensive closet to put together interesting fits (I certainly don't)(I don't mean to say that my fits are more interesting than anyone elses) , just try to think a little bit more outside the box, as you won't have a brand name to fall back on.
For example, pic related is an objectively basic fit, but everything fits well and the brands are widely recognized.
Another example is the rick uniform - Rick has put out something like 19 collections at this point, opening up nearly endless possibility for variation, but many people fall back on a relatively similar fit - drkshdw bomber, dick flap tank, pods/prisoners, and geos/ramones/sock runners - AND IT LOOKS FUCKING GREAT. People may acknowledge that their fit is basic within the rick universe, but nobody ever complains about it.

Honestly shopping for pants online is impossible unless you've bought the exact model before.
Shirts/tops can kinda work within a range of body types, and the measurements give you a good idea of what you're getting into, but pants are much more personal, and the fit/size/material/cut differs from brand to brand.
Uniqlo has some really nice chinos for decently cheap, but I'd stay away from their jeans -they are cut in a very, very low rise, which makes them incredibly un-versatile, and they certainly aren't worth the $50 price tag.
