Anyone raw vegan/fruitarian here? It seems pretty suitable for /thinspo/, really hard to eat over your calorie limit, keeps you hidhratted, no cravings because you get more than enough sugar and plenty of vitamins.

Not that anon, but /thinspo/ for sure goes in cycles and my guess is once exams are done (this is crunch time in a lot of universities) and people are on break traffic will pick up. And of course after the New Year we'll get a big boost with people who have new motivation and resolutions.

Do you take measurements or are you just going off what you look like? I find it's hard to tell just by looking at yourself that you've lost, especially if you're going at a good pace.

Probably just water and a little fat. Depends on how overweight you are, losing 10kg usually shows quite a bit on someone who isn't pretty overweight but if you are big than it may not show until you've lost more. Can't really judge unless we know height/weight.

I've had some trouble finding clothes myself, I did get some jeans recently that fit in Urban Outfitters though which was REALLY good and surprising (they labelled them 24-25inch waist but they fit me perfect at 21in), plus oversized stuff looks cute and sometimes kids sections aren't so bad for basics.

'Fashion for thin people' is not really what 'thinspo' is but there are always some fashion photos in the thread.

There is good support here for people struggling with their weight who aren't naturally thin but I haven't seen anyone encouraging anyone else to be unhealthily underweight.

My own goal is to achieve and maintain a minimum but healthy weight. This thread encourages and helps me.

I'm 5'1" and my goal weight is around 90-88lbs. I'm currently 93lbs and last time I measured my waist it was 22 inches but it'll probably get smaller.
I guess it's only really important that jeans, skirts and some dresses fit properly, I don't really mind when other things are oversized. I'm probably quite lucky that kids clothes might not look too bad height-wise.

Yes, just heat the water to boiling (or just off boiling depending on the teatype), then steep your tea. Just don't stick tea leaves/powder or tea bag in cold water, then heat. But I'd make a thermos full of pre-made tea every morning and bring that instead. Much handier.

How do you ignore high calorie foods around you?
I can't keep myself away from eating sugary or high fat foods that either my friends or family buy and are offering it or just have it laying around.

I know some people advise against 'demonizing' any certain kinds of foods but if it is unhealthy junk and sugar-filled foods, they really are bad for us, especially when restricting because they take up the precious calories we need for essential nutrients. We don't have enough calories to spare to eat those things. Just say no, even to a little. For me, if I can say completely no then there is never the danger of eating too much of them because I don't eat any. I DO keep yoghurt, berries and spice tea as treats, or sometimes drink a Coke Zero.

I don't starve myself harshly so I can eat or drink something healthy if I am actually physically hungry. But I don't eat sugar or very high fat foods much anyway so I rarely crave them.
In the beginning, I had to eliminate sugar completely to be free of craving it.

Sounds good. My current plan is 1350 calories a day spread over 3 meals and 3 snacks. It mostly whatever I can get my hands on PB&J half/whole sandwiches, canned veggies, and oatmeal with the occasional bowl of cereal with almond milk. It's not always easy but I feel satisfied most of the time.

I'm 5'4", 128 lbs and I haven't been able to go down fron this weight for more than 2 weeks now. I use MyFitnessPal and it did wonders for me until 2 weeks ago. I lost 10 lbs since this summer and plan to lose at least 10 more lbs untimately, but somethings wrong. :(
I dont count every single calorie because I dont want to go nuts but it's really starting to bother me.

I was thiinking instead of counting the "1 lbs per week loss" calorie intake I should calculate what someone of my goal weight's calorie intake should be and go with that?

P.S. I joined a gym 2 weeks ago (I go 4-5 times a week, for atleast an hour), and despite that have not lost any weight. Fuck me.

But really you should be counting everything. Calorie counting is all or nothing for it to work.

For me I counted calories while I dropped the weight, and then by the time I was at maintenance I stopped counting because I had basically learned how much to eat visually. Now I still weigh in regularly to make sure I don't start going up, but only occasionally look up a calorie count for something that is new or if I change my diet a lot then I calorie count for a while.

Some people are naturally thin, but for those of us who have to work at it, it's a balance but you have to lose and maintain in whatever way works for you.

I wouldn't call calorie counting abnormal, I'd say it is the most common method out there. Look at the shear number of people on MFP and LoseIt for that matter.

For me, I hate MyFitnessPal and the way calorie counting works. What's worked for me is having a food scal first of all and using it to get my calories right. It's not counting but weighing the right amounts so I don't have to guess or think about it. You can get a food scale on amazon for like 15 dollars.

I weigh my food that isn't packaged or labeled by portion and then count those calories in MFP, I thought that is how everyone does it?

It's a bit of work to do it by my recipes and add them but once they are in, I also realized that I'm building a good recipe resource and don't eat as much packaged stuff as I feared when I'm more aware about it and counting. But I like cooking and home-cooked food, especially in autumn and winter.

If you get to the grocery store and they only have pretty yellow looking ones, ask the produce stockers to see if there are more greens ones in the back. They often have them stored in back for when they get further along since lots of shoppers want ripe ones and they want to get rid of those before they go bad.

I think some sugar in moderation is a good thing, but yeah having it with fiber in the form of fruit is the best way. Some sugar is healthy. All about moderation.

Black coffee is fucking great for staving off the urge to overeat. In my experience, it only takes a little food to sate legitimate hunger, but the desire to overeat is pretty much ever present and hard to fight at times.

Stay hydrated. If you get hungry between meals, snack on shit like celery, grapes and apples.

I do this too, only I use a Numbers spreadsheet so I can graph it. It's been so successful with my weight loss that now I track other things like hours slept, notes on aches and pain and other general body related data.

Well said. With me I get really hungry and I saw "I'm going to have some almonds" and eating those almonds makes me ready for MORE FOOD, and then I need to fight the urge to eat more for the next 20 minutes. That desire to eat can get pretty strong and I buckle sometimes, but, it's very important to wait out hunger because it seems to come in waves and also small amounts take a while to trigger your body to stop feeling so famished.

I've meticulously tracked calories in the past eating less than 1000 a day for over two weeks (I've tried multiple times) and it ALWAYS makes me look bloated. I know it sounds memey but people have said it might be my body storing fat because I'm eating too little I'm not sure why it happens. Maybe if I stick with it longer it'll get past that phase but I hate looking bloated so I just go back to eating whatever I want eventually. That's why I assumed it was what I ate even if I stayed well under recommended daily calories which is like 1600. I have no problem eating less I have self control but if anyone knows what I can do to guarantee losing weight I'd appreciate it.

By no means. Fat loss is fat loss and working out has nothing to do with it unless you mean calories. Working out either burns calories which will make fat fall off where you genetics dictate or build muscle which has nothing to do with fat. If you want to lose you gut, cut calories until its where you want, you genetics will dictate whether you lose from your gut first, last, or somewhere in between. Some people store fat on their gut before anything so they lose it last, other (even guys) store it in their hips and thighs so they have to lose everything else before they stat losing from there, as their genetics dictate.

I'm 1.78m.

I was a fatty at 95kg, but I lost weight and I'm down to 77kg.
Everyone looks at me and says I'm now normal, but I still have a belly and when I look at myself from the sides I see a fat person.

In clothes, I'm in a middle spot where Large is too large, but Medium is too small.

I think I need to lose another 4-5kg to look slim, do you think 72kg at 1.78m is too little?
I have very little muscle but I've started going to the gym since the end of August.

I followed frank medranos calisthenics workout for couple of months. I just grew some biceps and pecs and that was all.

Many people grow closer to their family with some distance. If your family is as they say they probably won't change no matter what argument you provide. You can show them studies on healthy body weights and explain them for hours but it likely won't change their mind. I had a bad binge yesterday. Someone send a holiday basket and I ate some chocolates out of it because I had a bad day. I ended up eating the entire box of chocolates, moving on to another box of chocolates in there, cookies and and chocolate covered pretzels. Then I drove to McDonalds and got two bacon cheeseburgers with fries, a large coke and some nuggies with bbq sauce. I thought it was over but when I was home I made two large frozen pizzas, oven chicken tendies and ate one pint of chocolate peanut butter ice cream and another pint of chocolate mint ice cream.
