I went from 216-lbs down to 145-lbs now, over a period of a year and a half. For me there was a point where I just decided it was time to lose weight and that was it. That next morning I had oatmeal instead of my usual weekend french toast.

The beginning was fairly easy after I got started, but once I got down to a normal BMI it became harder for me. Progress slowed, and motivation was harder to come by as a result, but this thread was extremely inspiring to keep pushing on.

I'd also say that weight loss has become sort of addicting to me. Once you figure out how to do it, then it becomes more of a decision on where to stop. Especially if going slowly, it is very tempting to just keep chipping away at my weight and even a 100-200 calorie deficit while starts to add up after a few months.

ok so I'm still losing weight and I really don't think I have anorexia. I think as of right now i just have enough willpower to not eat too much food, because its not as if I don't like or trust food. I eat pretty well below my TDEE and I exercise a moderate amount. The only thing that sometimes frightens me is if I don't even know if I have an ED. Guys i dunno if this ever gets mentioned in these threads bc I haven't browsed them in ages, but have any of you ever considered veganism?

If not, why? seriously the diet is the best thing ever for losing weight, even just starting with no dairy and then cutting out meat later. I know a lot of people are against it which is fucking dumb, but i figured you guys would be less opposed to it if it means losing weight easier and as long as you put in research on how to get your vital nutrients and minerals ( or just take supplements ) you'll stay healthy while loosing all that weight.

you don't have to commit to the whole lifestyle of veganism ( no animal products in clothes and all that kind of stuff ) if you don't believe in it, although it would be really cool if you looked into that too, but just commit to the diet and you'll definitely see results.

1 in 10 seems like a lot to have a diagnosed eating disorder, perhaps if they had worded it as "1 in 10 people practice disordered eating habits at some point in their life" it would be more accurate.
the difference between the two are that eating disorders are a mental illness and an obsession out of the person's control, as opposed to just taking shitty diet advice on the internet and going back to normal after 3 weeks.

Not that anon, but most people with eating disorders end up in some kind of treatment program and put on some kind of medication. There are no drugs for eating disorders themselves, but (((they))) will prescribe drugs for depression which are on patent and highly profitable. There is also a whole industry of psychotherapy, despite it not being very functional. The science on psychotherapy is poorly constructed, not double blind, ad-hoc and with poor sample sizes - hardly something that would pass the scientific method in any other industry. So, yes, I imagine the 30 million number is a sales pitch for anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications through lobbying and industry groups.

Normally when I sleep I set my thermostat to 70F, so last night I did just that. But I was so cold I ended up pushing it up to 72F, which normally would have me in sweats in my bed.

Are you weighing yourself every day, naked, first thing in the morning? If not, do. Don't pay too much attention to the daily numbers though, but rather take an average every Sunday. That's your weight for the week.

You could also just have some water retention from high sodium. Lots of things could be going on. In all likelihood you're going to all the sudden see a dramatic drop on the scale shortly.

Does it matter what I eat as long as the caloric value is the same?
