I build and remodel homes for a living. Just because I'm not getting paid minimum wage to do so doesn't mean I'm not blue collar. I'm usually in an office one day a week. The rest of the time I'm out working with everyone else.

Look, you can have multiple jobs, or a multi-faceted one, but you can't tell me being a property manager is blue collar work. What you posted is the opposite of a blue collar outfit, it's white collar.

I wore the bow-tie that day because I'm the Vice-Chairman on a board of directors and kept it on to go vote (it was Election Day). It's not an every day thing. As far as the vest goes, I just like them. North Carolina's weather is crazy. They keep you warm enough to tolerate the cold, but you also won't burn up once it starts warming up during the day.

And I'm not sure that guy knows what a contractor is.

I've done a ton of manual labor and still do. That's how I got to where I'm at today. I just mentioned the minimum wage thing to get the point across. I didn't mean it to be taken literally. I pay people a fair price for labor (unskilled and otherwise) so I'm aware of the average wages.

Minus the bow tie, that's generally how I dress on the job site though.
