I have thick and wavy hair and this but longer was my goal.

You can't really just let it grow, you have to get it trimmed once in a while because if you don't, your hair gets stuck at the same length for a long time

Mine looks exactly the same when I don't wash it for a week, I use a little bit of product and just split my hair, run my hands through it and that's what it looks like.

Sorry, it's buzzed rn actually. I had it short on the sides and wanted my hair even length all over.

You shouldn't have to part it, I suggest trying no-poo as well for thick hair.

My hair is kinda curly but really only in the front section and it makes it super hard to style but should I just grow it out to look like OP?
