They're an old pair of work boots with those shank things over them (also old ones). Welders wear them. It'd be hard nigh impossible to find vintage ones.

found out they're actually called Metatarsal guards, I think. also looks like all modern versions look like shit. I suppose I'll keep an eye out in vintage shops.

Gaiters are a separate piece you attach to the leg/boot.

lmao I was working w a styling team for a p big fashion brand and they had these in their archive for research. I think they're p rad. mad uncomfortable pair, though.
