You can use conditioner every other shower, and shampoo once a week, but using shampoo every day messes with your natural oil production and your hair's texture. Also, don't brush it, as moth-brained shells of human beings line yourself so often do. Finger comb it, or even sometimes use a wide tooth comb/boar brush WHILE ITS WET. You don't need to be ripping out what little pathetic hair you have left. Also, don't use hot water. Learn to shower with lukewarm or cool water, or at least turn the dial when you way your hair. This might actually be the most important part.

Anybody got any experience/advice/knowledge on daily hairstyling & product use leading/contributing to hair loss?

My hairline has started receding and thinning a little bit in the past 12 months (i'm 27). I've pretty always styled my hair in one way or another ever since I was in my early teens (as early as 12 that I can remember), using various styling products nearly every day.

It appears to me that my hair loss is most likely just due to genetics/age since it only just started a little over a year ago. But now I'm kind of paranoid about putting too much shit in my hair and exacerbating the hair loss. Particularly, I've been noticing for a while now that I get a lot of hairfall when I use clays & pastes. Again, I'm not sure if it's just inevitable at this point or if my daily hairstyling is making it unnecessarily worse. Anybody got any advice?

Try to quit shampoo and welcome natural grease as a replacement for hairgel.
Haven't used shampoo in >6 months and my hair is great, not greasy at all.
Rinse them well with water and gently scrub your scalp.
Also brush them before going to bed to spread the nurturing scalp sebum.
It sounds disgusting but it works.
Also no more scalp rashes.
