My forehead is starting to look like this but a little less gross, I wash my face twice a day and tone, use light moisturizer, run every otherday, only drink water. Is it just stress?
>>
Try using salicylic acid

Take an actual picture of your forehead so we know exactly what we're dealing with. I'm actually in medical school studying to become a dermatologist.

washing your face twice a day might irritate your skin its best to keep it to once a day
i posted this in a previous thread but when do you apply toner, is it before or after facewash?
>>
>>11858981
do you change our sheets at least weekly, how is your sleeping patterns?
>>
>>11858913
u wanna make sum aspirin
>>

Drink lots of water (3L a day MINIMUM)
Change pillowcase
Don't touch your fucking face, you dog
Sleep before 2 AM (circadian rhythm and hormones and shit, google it)
Eat veggies
Don't drink milk
Cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize

Be consistent with everything mentioned above.
>>
>>11859093

>>11859093

Wtf, OP please don't listen this guy.
Drinking 3L of water or more is so dangerously stupid. You could get over hydrated.

I had acne a few years ago. What helped me was:

>Exercise
>Wash your face twice a day, when you wake up and before going to bed
>Use neutral soap. I use the GRISI brand
>Dont touch you forehead
>>
>>11859288
>Drinking 3L of water or more is so dangerously stupid. You could get over hydrated.
Literally retarded.
>>
>>11859292
not that guy but 12+ cups of water a day is a retardedly high amount to drink
>>
Washing my face irritated it And gave me eczema a bunch.
I reduced it once a week with ceraphil and my problems are fixed
>>
>>11858906
>>11858981
it's called hormones

>>
>>11858906
it's 100% because of what you eat

(he talks about his skin)

the other stuff the guys in this thread are arguing over is like trying to polish a sick person into health
>>
>>11859288
I drink 5 litres of water a day mate and I'm completely fine, besides waking up at night to piss. How much do you drink a day then?
>>
Op here, why do you guys assume I'm touching my face? I only do that when I wash it. Also I change my sheets weekly and sleep on a different pillowcase each night
>>
>>11859693
cuz touching your face alot fucks ur skin up
dont take it personally lol
>>
I stopped using soap and my acne went away. I wash my face with warm and then cold water twice, sometimes three times a day (warmth opens the pores, rubbing your face cleans them out, then a splash of cold closes them again)
>>
>>11859716
ayy das smart
i cant do it that often though itd rub off all my facial products
>>
>>11858981
eeeewwwww

Yo also if anyone could tell me the secrets of getting rid of oily skin. that be grreaatt
>>
>>11859288
You need 2 liters for normal activity, 3 or more if you're active, what the shit are you talking about?
>>
Sounds like you're stressing your skin and fucking its pH and moisture levels with a regime that's too invasive for it.

I don't think there's a reason to tone twice a day, lay off that, see if there's improvement, that's the immediate thing to jump out as a possible problem.
>>
>>11860194
Once a day? Every other day? Thanks, I was just going off the instructions
>>
>>11860212
I'd start with once a day, see if there's improvement.
Just remember that your skin is sort of a living thing that's adapting and responding to the conditions you put it under - you have to see what works for you and you can most likely forget about one-size, fit-all solutions. Even a great routine with the best products will hurt your skin when overdone since healing and growing (not in some new age manner of speak, I mean literally) is a crucial part of it staying healthy.

If that doesn't work I'd get benzoyl peroxide cream (2-5%), apply a light layer just after washing your face over problematic areas, let it sit on your face for 10 mins and then apply a light layer of moisturizer.

>stop scrubbing you face so hard, be gentle.
>seriously use bactine.
>wash it off after 10 min.
>dry face with clean towel, dab dry with towel, no heavy scrubbing.

you skin is delicate treat it that way. seriously not enough ppl tell others to be gentle in washing. also keep you pillow cases clean. and be sure your ears arent greasy before bed or itl spread all over in your sleep.

i defeated acne this way in a very short time.

Two things

REAL Castile Soap. Not that Doc Bronners bullshit
>Castile soap is only two ingredients: Olive Oil and Sodium Hydroxide.
>it comes as a bar, not as a liquid on account of the sodium salts forming hard bars at room temperature
>End of discussion

Coconut Oil
>regular old coconut cooking oil.
>buy whatever's cheapest in the cooking oil section at wally world or whatever shitfuck overpriced vegan-all-natural-raised-on-rabbit-poo-garden-co-op grocery store you shop at.

In the evening before bed while you're just out of the fresh hot shower and still dripping wet get a dallop of coconut oil on your fingers and spread it all over your face. Really slather than shit on and gently massage it into the skin in a circular fashion. Once it's evenly applied and worked in then towel off, and go about the rest of your nightly routine
>after 10-15 minutes go back in and work up a lather of castile soap on your hands and wash your face clean. Work the lather into your skin and rinse it off. Don't scrub or scratch, or overdo it. All you're caring about is getting the oil off of your face. You're not looking to strip it all off.

Do this ONCE a day, every day.

Coconut oil works in two ways. it helps to penetrate and loosen sebum which has bound skin cells at the pores, making it easier for gentler (non-stripping) soaps to wash away the grime and sebum.

Secondly the Lauric acid of which coconut oil has a lot of has bactericide properties.

Thirdly coconut oil is one of the few oils that readily penetrates and actually helps to moisturize skin. Most other oils sit on the surface, yes, even olive oil and all the new age bullshit stuff they put in cosmetics.

And the fourth point is that castile soap is about the gentlest non-stripping soap you can get your hands on. It will readily emulsify bulk oils, but has a hard time stripping oils from surfaces.
>>
>>11858906
Charcoal or Mint Julep Mask (Charcoal draws out the oil in pore well, Mint Julep is a strong follow-up)
Use Oil Blot Sheets (Use during days, find in cosmetic or facial section of your grocer)
Use Witch Hazels Pads (Not harsh, excellent cleanser)

>>11861891
Charcoal mask works very well. Dont know about the cleanser.

>>11861910

You're a fucking retard. Enjoy all that cheap chem trash refined gunk on your skin. All coconut oil is not the same for your mouth, skin, and hair. You may not need to go to Whole Foods but you sure as fuck can spend 2-3 more dollars for quality.

Also

How can i force myself to stop scratching my face?

I don't seem so get much new acne, most of the shit on my face is just scabs and cuts.

Problem is I don't even notice i'm scratching my face until it starts bleeding.

is pic related the only way to cure me?
>>
just ask a dermatologist for some tetracycline
or isotretinoin if you're willing to suffer for some months
>>
Got the same forehead skin problem lately. Put some aftershave balm on my forehead. Skin problem solved.
>>
>>11860408
Your covering your forehead and wearing makeup...
>>
>>11861910
Yeah, No.
This is greenwashed BS right here.

When it comes to skin care, you want to go as chemically pure and un 'organic' as possible. Botanical extracts and natural vegetable oils contain all kinds of impurities that fuck with the skin.
Well formulated skin care products contain only what is needed for their skin care purpose.

Also, coconut oil is possible one of the most comedogenic products out there, don't put it anywhere near your skin if you suffer from acne.

This is terrible advice for anyone with sensitive skin.

I've been drinking 3L of water every day for two years, and I'm fine. You just have to space your drinks out well enough that you don't drink too much water at a time.

I have a question about applying one of those exfoliators; You're not supposed to wash the cream off, right? That might seem like a stupid question, but I'm trying to be cautious with it and make sure I'm applying it correctly.
>>
>>11862985
You are not supposed to wash it off, if you don't use too much and rub it in properly it shouldn't feel/look like anything is there.
>>
>>11859716
That is a lie, warmth does not open up your pores
>>
>>11863798
Super late reply, but I applied it last night, left it on for a few minutes, and then washed it off. It still felt like the exfoliator was affecting my skin, even after I washed it off.

I won't wash it off next time I use it, though.
>>
>>11861910
that might work for you but your info is not chemically sound

castille soap fucks with your skins natural ph, and is generally way too harsh
and coconut oil is comedogenic

coconut oil does have bactericide properties and it might be an option for some people who aren't acne prone, but 8/10 it will fuck with your acne

also; ending your routine with a cleanser rather than a moisturizer doesn't make much sense

@OP
what toner/cleanser/moisturizer are you using? it might just be that your cleanser/toner are too harsh and you need to only use one in the morning and both at night. if you want to list the ingredients in your toner that'd be even better
a lot of skincare specialists recommend only using a gentle toner and moisturizer in the morning but that did not work for my skin, so try it, but don't think that it's bad skincare to wash your face twice a day.

wrt dairy, drinking water, hormones etc

these all can have an effect on your skin, I knew a guy who stopped drinking soft drinks and that got rid of is acne entirely, so in the end you don't know for sure if it's just one factor triggering your acne until you know
for most people its two or three factors combined with a crappy routine

do you wear hats that sit on your forehead regularly? having oily fabric sitting on your skin can mess up ur forehead
also, when you shower, be extra careful to rinse your conditioner away from your hairline, and/or try another brand of conditioner, oily hair or conditioner ingredients can trigger acne in some folks
>>
>>11862595
those -cycline meds work really well. good luck once you stop tho it comes back.
>>
>>11868779
they are antibiotics. you need to be wary of overuse
>>
>>11859288
Uh, you can drink as much water as you like so long as you piss when you obviously need to and don't drink a shit load too quickly.
>>
>>11861910
Please don't use coconut oil. It is very comedogenic. I was using it on my back to moisturise and it broke me out in cystic acne. Took me a while to figure out the coconut oil was the culprit.

As for op, try getting a retinoid treatment if you can and apply it once a day, and maybe an azelaic acid treatment. Make sure you use sunscreen if you do start using either of these and a good quality moisturiser. They should help clear your skin up.

The Ordinary by Deciem has excellent and very affordable skincare products. I suggest you read up on their routines and the science behind it to better understand what products you think will suit your skin.

Is your hair often in your face and does your forehead sweat a lot? You may need to try keeping your hair out of your face.
