Gap is effay as fuck. Good plain basics, pretty much always 40% off so the prices are reasonable. Nice classic shit too like sweaters and chinos. Can't go wrong
Anyone else /gap/?
>>
>>11832890
Yup. I get all my jeans and sweaters from there.

Quality isn't top notch, but if you pick out higher end stuff there, it can last you for quite a while.

Uniqlo and H&M are better.
>>
>>11832892
Yeah pretty much my inspiration for this thread was a grey crewneck nearly on par with reigning champ I picked up for $30.
Fuckin ace boii

Can all you flops trying to justify your shitty mall garbage fuck off
"hehe it's not that bad guys, its certainly better $5 chinese plastic garbage off aliexpress r-right guys?"
You seriously must have only discovered /fa/ yesterday if you think gap, or any mall garbage is stylish or high quality
>>
>>11832916
Okay then, tell me where I should be buying my clothes.

I'm not wealthy, so where do you expect me to be getting decent stuff if not at the Gap?
>>
>>11832916
I don't even lump gap in with mall shit, they're kind of in a different.. heritage? category. They been makin decent shit forever. They sit in the middle and don't try to be anything they aren't.
>>
>>11832919
Rick owens
>>
>>11832926
Yeah? And what about that brand makes it better?

Just because it looks more trendy, or because they use better materials?

I'm not looking to stand out in a crowd.
>>
>>11832935
Because it's rick owens idiot
>>
>>11832942
Okay, well I've been buying my clothes from the gap my whole life. Never even heard of rick owens.

If you think it's a better choice, why don't you tell me why.
>>
Everything in the sf moma is the gap+br+oldnavy's conglomerate's Fisher's stuff.
Making money off of third world labor is so profitable, they even have more stuff on display in cantor at stanford. Not really fashion related, just wish i was rich.
>>
>>11832947
why are you on the fasion board? I'm not trying to be snide, but mall store stuff like gap isn't fashion, it's just regular clothing
>>
>>11832919
>>11832935
>>11832947
why are you on this board
like shopping at gap isnt awful but its like
so heavily commercialised to the point where its like the pop music of clothing
like if you actually care about fashion or clothing you wouldnt shop at gap
>>
>>11832997
I'm here to get inspiration on basic outfits that I can wear from day to day that will look good.

I'm not here to buy into meme fashion trends. I just want reccomendations about things to wear that would look decent.

A couple years ago my average outfit was a white shit and regular old h&m jeans every single day. At least now I'm diversifying it somewhat with sweaters and boots and shit.
>>
>>11833012
I do care. I just don't know how to "get into" fashion, per se.

I don't have that much money as a college student, and I feel overwhelmed at the sheer number of places to buy clothes and styles and things like that, so I often just play it safe and buy regular stuff at the gap.

Is gap literally shilling on here what the fuck rofl

>being retarded enough to believe things are"40% off" "pretty much always"
>>
>>11833022
I mentioned that not as if I was getting a "deal", it was like just wait and you'll get a 40% off sale then buy your shit because now it's at a reasonable price.
>>
>>11833018
thats a bit closed minded
not everything that you dont like is "meme trendy shit" and is automatically just trying too hard to stand out
you need to broaden your spectrum and develop better taste anon
>>11833020
like of course you do care about your physical appearance and the clothes that you wear but that isnt really "fashion"
you seem to use "fashion" as a sort of buzzword for trendy kardashian-esque shit, like the womens magazines "whats in style this spring" kind of thing
thats really not what its about
>>
>>11832916
pompous faggot with silverspoon up ass

we don't all have money to buy dick ovens like you nigger

>>11833012
"if you actually care about fashion"
surprise faggot, people have different opinions and preferences

>>11833018
only person who is compitent and not a memey effay cunt

im not criticising you you seem like a chill guy but you should appreciate fashion holistically instead of just thinking like "this is clothes i wear because its keeps me warm and because i dont want to stand out"
its hard to articulate without sounding super pretentious but its a legitimate form of art but its so heavily commercialised and since everyone wears clothes theres now theres just this like "fashion is this, music is this, why are things changing i dont like change"
thats why runways and clothes that cost over $100 get scrutinised by normies

>>11833031
dont have to be rich to afford expensive/nice things
>what is fashion
>hehe im so above this online community im smarter than all of them im the only SANE one
ok man

>>11833035

>tfw I feel literally no remorse for buying clothes from stores which use bangladeshi child labor, because I know that all those kids are muslim
They could work those fuckers to death and I wouldn't give a shit.

>>11832892
By last long you mean cover your body to the legally and bare minimum standard that is socially acceptable?

Sure, in that realm uniqlo, h&m, gap, Zara, Walmart and old navy all "last awhile"

Will any of it classify as clothing that someone who is considered to be well dressed be seen in?

Absolutely not.

Uniqlo and the Reddit advised brands are clothes to make awkward teenagers with critically low levels of income almost look socially normative.

It fails at anything else
>>
>>11833171
although sweatshop conditions are poor, it's better than the alternative, which is starving on the street. the only way for developing economies to build themselves up is with the slow injection of capital like that
>>
>>11833217
nah, they should obviously all be engineers or college teachers at the very least. clothing made with human labor is disgusting and inhumane

low quality bait
fake sieg
will reply anyways
"last long" meaning will last a few years which isnt that bad, if you pay $20 for a shirt youre not going to get haute couture last a lifetime shit, be realistic
you can be well dressed with basic pieces if your body is good and the fit is good
dont have to be wearing $1000+ to look good
uniqlos not bad for what it is, its only bad when >>11831871 happens (i wrote the normie comment)
shitting on reddit is getting old, if youve checked the waywt recently its pretty fucking awful, some people on here also actually think uniqlo>helmut
ok

liek technically i agree with you but the way you present your ideas is horrid and extreme
>>
>>11832894
uniqlo yes
h&m? fuck no
