I need a good rain jacket. I'd like to find something that's super-breathable, or close to it, and which is mainly just a hooded shell. Although a certain amount of insulation would be okay, as long as it's not too much.
But anyway, let's just have a general rain jacket thread. Lot's of pictures would be cool.
Bumping with Dutch Harbor Gear. I think I'm gonna get this and maybe a poncho.

Looks like it would be highly effective in straight-up massive downpour deluges. I'd like to find something for days when it just rains off and on. Just something for gray drizzly days that goes well with a backpack.
Thanks for the bump.
Pic purely for inso.

Yeah, DHG makes rainwear for fishermen and others who work in wet weather. Seems functional but sexily so.
Isn't Freeman supposed to be good
I don't unless if it has tapped seams but the designs are nice
I have 2: one is a pataonia rain jacket (which is currently on sale http://www.patagonia.com/product/mens-torrentshell-waterproof-rain-jacket/83801.html) and the other is a windbreaker

can't say eonugh how much i like the patagonia one. design is near perfect. they've seriously thought of everything. it's light as shit, can be packed very tightly and has great adjustability at the wasit and hood. also has nice arm vents
the windbreaker is more just for casual wear. it's made by a snowboard site and the construction isn't great. but it's nice for when its just drizzling and you dont wanna go all-out

How long is it water resistant? My Tracksmith jacket looks dope as fuck (drops of water roll off of it....very nice imo) for about thirty minutes lol then it gets saturated in water
Is Rains actually good?

I've got their standard 'jacket' and it works really well, i've never had any problems in the rain. There are vents under the arms, and on the back below this big flap thing so it breathes well. I'm sure there are better ones out there but it keeps you dry, has a minimal and sleek look, and isn't too expensive.

I have a long raincoat from them and it's decent enough for the price (pretty sure Rain is part of H&M/COS/Weekday) and it being something I'll only wear a few times a year. Definitely kept me dry.
rukka of course
