Hey /fa/. I've got medium length (just covers my eyes), fairly thick hair.
I've tried a bunch of pomades, and have been using pic related as of late, but it's just not holding my hair back anymore.
Any suggestions on a stronger hold pomade? Preferrebly something with a matte finish and one that doesn't make my hair crusty.

>that doesn't make my hair crusty
get an oil based pomade rather than water based. it won't dry out
Is there anything like this out there that is cruelty free?

use a real pomade
light pomades+wet hair = any style you'd need a medium or a heavy for without the weight

Murrays superior hair dressing pomade is GOAT

Strong hold, matte and smells good

its actually one of the worst pomades you can get next to candle wax

Kinda tough. Try a clay pomade.
You get a good hold without it looking like it's glue.

w2c good inexpensive hair clay ?
What should I use to keep my hair relatively straight and slicked back? (I have really thick/coarse curly hair because I'm half nig)
I went through a small jar of Uppercut deluxe strong hold and it was okay but didn't really straighten my hair out as I liked and undid itself over the day. Got a tub of that Suivacito firme on the way but just in case thats not good, what to get?

Try goon grease.
Needs to be styled with damp hair.
Will shape well and will HOLD.

I just tried goon grease for the first time today! I slick my hair back, and I wanted something with a stronger hold and higher sheen than Murrays. Not sure about this scent though. It's pretty damn fragrant. I hope it grows on me.

This seems like what you want.

Yeah. Kinda fruity. Strong hold though. Not TOO shiny either.

What if strong hold and TOO shiny is what I want? I want a sheen so bright, The FAA fines me for blinding pilots.

are you fucking ready to have your mind blown?
run a base coat of your heavy holding pomade of choice, in this case goon grease
pick up a tin of royal crown hairdressing and use it as a topper
now when you go through your buildup process, you'll retain the extra holding strength from all the waxyness of your base coat, but you'll have that motherfuckin elvis sheen to it.
protip: light pomades like royal crown or lockharts light can style like a heavy if you keep your hair pretty wet during the application process
