I don't know what your budget is anon, but the fugi patch is quite expensive (30$). So I would suggest to reserve it to a better garment than your backpack.
For an olive one, I would suggest black patches, because it suits more the pallet of your backpack.

If you're strictly wondering for one or the other, put the fugi one.

As long as you sew it, you can put a patch on pretty much anything, besides very thin fabrics like silk.

You can put patches everywhere on your coat and still be effay. In your situation though, it would look dumb. Remember to have a synergy between your patches.

Just search "custom patches" and read customer reviews of whatever comes up. There are plenty of good options

Btw I am in no way an expert so please don't take this as expert advice

Jean jackets were the original ones to have patches, mainly for metal bands. However, you can do Leather Jackets, Military Jackets, Backpacks, almost anything really. You can put them on t shirts and stuff but I don't really like that look.

No. You can sew through it. If you want that patch to be pretty much permanent you do both. You can just sew it and it will stay on great if you do it properly.
