I sampled BdC EdT and the longevity and projection suck! It projects well the first 2-3 hours and then disappears. I also tried the EdP, it had a more sweeter smell and i liked the EdT more

How to improve the longevity? Put some moisturizer to my skin or how?

I'm thinking of picking up YSL La Nuit EDP for the coming cold weather, should I or shouldn't I? This summer I've been wearing Terre d'Hermes on hot days and bleu de chanel on colder ones.

Last year I had a 100ml CH Men bottle I raced through, that was a really great frag. I'd be open to getting something akin to that for the coming cold instead of YSL la nuit edp. I had YSL la nuit edt before but apparently the EDP projects less, which to me, is a good thing in winter.

Just copped MFK Absolue pour le Soir and it's a winning incense-amber-honey-barnyard scent. Just the right balance of resiny sweet and dirty that is completely wearable but at the same time toes the line of pure sex juice.

Got a 10ml decant of Baccarat Rouge with it too, which is airy cotton candy amber with a jasmine background. Incredibly overpriced though. I'd take Reflection Man over it.

Any other stuff from the house that you'd recommend? I'm looking for a kickass classy day scent to complement AplS. I remember liking Amyris pour femme so maybe something of that nature. Masculin Pluriel smelled like plastic to me and the ouds were too smooth to be engaging.

Sounds right up my alley but Lutens is hard to get here. I read Kiehl's Original Musk is MKK's younger brother. That one is easier to find (and sample).

On a side note, I tried Lumiere Noire pour Homme and I don't get what the fuss was about. It's a vaguely spiced watery amber with rose playing hide and seek. Egoiste has that bitter spiced rose that smells like a primped Victorian dandy, and Lyric has the juice of crushed rose petals. Next to those LN smelled like vase water.

I'm wearing a sample right now. Suede and sweet watery syrup with just a touch of oud. It does not last at all and just leaves a faint woody sugar water smell on the skin. Atelier Cologne's Oud Saphir smells almost identical but is thicker and better all around. Tuscan leather and its dupes also share the same sweet suede genre.

Either BdC EDP or Grey Vetiver. Performance wise ADG Profumo has them all beat but I find it a little too playful for the office. BdC is going to be on the more youthful, modern side while Grey Vetiver is going to come across more mature (not dated though...just grown up, like you have your shit together). It's up to you though...both should be easily available to sample, just go with the one that you feel best fits your personality

Unless you have a specific girl in mind and ALREADY know her scent preferences it is financially and logically the most sane decision to wear a fragrance that is generally crowd-pleasing. And yes, women typically have certain scent preferences, just as men typically have certain scent preferences. Some things will smell formal, some thing will smell sensual, some things will smell old in general to most people. Knowing in general how most people will react to a certain scent is key and is exactly why the youtube talking heads are of limited value unless they go ask normies.

Eau de New York - super modern, long lasting Cologne. All of the citrus plus all of the florals, crispy green and mossy and woody notes, with a subtle water note that really closes the sale for me.

Chez Bond - No it's Not Green Irish Tweed. This one is citrus tea plus green over wood. Sweet and smooth. Good projection and longevity. Women like this one.

1) Take a hot shower
2) Apply some urine socked in cotton balls in the neck region
3) Wait until the urine completely dries down
4) Spray your desired perfume at those areas

Tried Jazz Club, At The Barbershop and By The Fireplace by Maison Martin Margiela at my local store. Back from market trip and an indoor brunch. Kouros has a completely different personality between the two.

It's right at home in the heat, good enough to push through the market smell without that toilet vibe. The citrus keeps it from being cloying and the musk smell is like sun-darkened wet skin under the mediterranean sun.

Indoors the smell reminds of foggy hot baths and cold tiles mixed with soap and spices.

Both are perfectly inoffensive in the right situation and I guess the pickyness of Kouros is from the way it stands out loudly in an inappropriate setting.

I did two half sprays under my shirt.

Tried the whole Zegna Essenze line (not the gold releases). Ambrette and Oud stood out for me but neither were worth full bottles.

Ambrette has a more aromatic and dry opening (and the better scent, IMHO). It smelled like the inside of a wood chest with a touch of pine. Too bad it didn't last long before it was reduced to the base of every other woody scent around.

Oud is a rose/oud done by the numbers. Smooth and long lasting, but nothing new.

Shit better blow my mind at that price tier, and not simply be "mmkay".

Thoughts on L'Homme Ideal edt? I think it would make a great fall scent. The parfum lost the almondy goodness and smells ike it was cut with AHSE.

Don't make me laugh. Individuel was never a standout scent (same with the rest of the Mont Blancs). The only people excited about it now are the autists who jumped on the hype train after it's was talked up recently. Tell me where this immensely successful and outstanding breakout fragrance was between 2003 and 2016.

Copped L'Homme Ideal. Very nice boozy almond/tonka frag. Dumb reach quality but it has enough personality to stand on its own.

Pro: Masculine-sweet without smelling juvenile. Will not offend anyone. Tonka makes girls wet.

Con: Just average performance. Not unique/challenging enough.

It'll occupy the tonka hole in my collection until I burn through the 50ml, but I'm not getting a second bottle.

I've heard that female parfume on men is actually more attractive because women like the smell of their parfumerie which is why they buy it. Is it true? Generally female perfume contains musk which is known to turn females on.

I'm after a nice summer fragrance and I've heard that TF NP does the job well. However, I;ve also heard that it smells a lot like 4711. My problem with 4711 is that it lasts for an extremely short amount of time, whereas NP tends to last slightly longer. I've seen the new TF NP Forte, which is an improved version of the NP EDP, and a lot of people say it lasts longer. Should I spend the extra few bucks and buy the Forte or stick with the NP EDP original? Also, what's the best Tom Ford spring/summer fragrance that has a nice sillage and longevity?

It's completely up to you but honestly I don't find Neroli Portofino to be worth the money, there are plenty of similar smelling fragrances that are much cheaper and last just as long if not longer (Mugler Cologne, Gianfranco Ferre Bergamotto Marino, Ferrari Bright Neroli). If you do want to stick with Tom Ford I would suggest Mandarino di Amalfi, Rive d'Ambre, Azure Lime and even Grey Vetiver over Neroli Portofino
