I sampled BdC EdT and the longevity and projection suck! It projects well the first 2-3 hours and then disappears. I also tried the EdP, it had a more sweeter smell and i liked the EdT more

How to improve the longevity? Put some moisturizer to my skin or how?

Cool pic OP

I just got Burberry London in the mail. Haven't tried it yet, but I was looking for something with Tobacco and Leathery smells.

Any recommendations for my next sample? So far I have CDG Wonderoud, Issey Pour Homme, Aventus. Looking for some masculine frags for fall-winter

I'm thinking of picking up YSL La Nuit EDP for the coming cold weather, should I or shouldn't I? This summer I've been wearing Terre d'Hermes on hot days and bleu de chanel on colder ones.

Last year I had a 100ml CH Men bottle I raced through, that was a really great frag. I'd be open to getting something akin to that for the coming cold instead of YSL la nuit edp. I had YSL la nuit edt before but apparently the EDP projects less, which to me, is a good thing in winter.
>>
>>11773096
2016 EDP has mediocre performance, but the 2016 EDT has abysmal performance. Older EDTs had okay performance.

Rate my shit taste.

Still on the hunt for a woody fragrance, though I'd be willing to settle for Platinum Egoiste or TF Extreme. Actually Tanoke was top notch woods, but more burning woods than fresh and I couldn't see myself wearing it anywhere.

Can you guys rec me some nice autumn fragrances that would be suited for Uni? Sampled a few but didn't really like anything that much.
>>
I'm thinking about buying either A*Men Ultra Zest or Aqua Di Gio Porfumo or Tom Ford Noir extreme. Which one should I go in order for super longitivity and heavy sillage?
>>
>>11773882
There are literally hundreds of "nice autumn fragrances"
Is there anything that you like for sure? Anything you expect? notes you want? etc.

>>11774664
You can split those 3 into 2 categories

Spring/Summer:
>A*Men Ultra Zest or Aqua Di Gio Porfumo
Both are long lasting with average sillage, A*Men flankers are known for being heavy but Zest less so.
Fall/Winter
>Tom Ford Noir extreme
long lasting moderate to heavy sillage

Just copped MFK Absolue pour le Soir and it's a winning incense-amber-honey-barnyard scent. Just the right balance of resiny sweet and dirty that is completely wearable but at the same time toes the line of pure sex juice.

Got a 10ml decant of Baccarat Rouge with it too, which is airy cotton candy amber with a jasmine background. Incredibly overpriced though. I'd take Reflection Man over it.

Any other stuff from the house that you'd recommend? I'm looking for a kickass classy day scent to complement AplS. I remember liking Amyris pour femme so maybe something of that nature. Masculin Pluriel smelled like plastic to me and the ouds were too smooth to be engaging.

Have you tried Dior Homme Intense? I can't decide which one is better
>>
>>11776083
Classy. I can't wear it on the hottest of days but Homme works for any other time and occasion. Defies stereotype but is completely safe and versatile.

>>11776357
Both have a place in your collection if you want a night/cold weather version of Homme. If you have a big collection it's more of which one fits better in your wardrobe as a whole. DHI may be the more addictive scent, but if you can't wear it as much the point is moot.

As per your question, Noir Extreme. But in terms of the scent alone, definitely AdG Profumo. It leans more towards the warmer months but smells great even in cold weather, where the incense really comes through. NE reminds me of scented candles...

Tried Amara today. The base has citrus and gritty woods in common with Sauvage. Is that why it gets compliments? Sauvage does it better, but for the price Amara is a great substitute.

>>11779321
GpH II smells like you spilled tea on yourself. The problem is that it's too literal.
>>
>>11776443
Those stats are so subjective they mean nothing as a point of comparison. To get a true comparison you have to have the same number of people make the observation, they have to own both, have similar noses, skin chemistry, climate, humidity, number of sprays and application location, basis for judging sillage and projection... You see the point I'm trying to make here.

I went to the mall, sniffed both, and liked neither. I paid a bit extra out of pocket and walked out with 100ml of Diptyque Tam Dao instead. The Dior or the Chanel would have just sat unused.
>>
>>11779350
CBIHP appeals to me but reports on longevity are so shit I don't want to bother. Soft projection doesn't bother me (I actually prefer it) but I won't pay for something that last 15 minutes on skin.
>>
>>11780557

Sounds right up my alley but Lutens is hard to get here. I read Kiehl's Original Musk is MKK's younger brother. That one is easier to find (and sample).

On a side note, I tried Lumiere Noire pour Homme and I don't get what the fuss was about. It's a vaguely spiced watery amber with rose playing hide and seek. Egoiste has that bitter spiced rose that smells like a primped Victorian dandy, and Lyric has the juice of crushed rose petals. Next to those LN smelled like vase water.

I'm wearing a sample right now. Suede and sweet watery syrup with just a touch of oud. It does not last at all and just leaves a faint woody sugar water smell on the skin. Atelier Cologne's Oud Saphir smells almost identical but is thicker and better all around. Tuscan leather and its dupes also share the same sweet suede genre.

Tl;dr don't buy.

Either BdC EDP or Grey Vetiver. Performance wise ADG Profumo has them all beat but I find it a little too playful for the office. BdC is going to be on the more youthful, modern side while Grey Vetiver is going to come across more mature (not dated though...just grown up, like you have your shit together). It's up to you though...both should be easily available to sample, just go with the one that you feel best fits your personality

That dude's probably the worst reviewer
>>
>>11789317
ha why do you say that? I'm impartial, honestly just curious
>>
>>11788838
Jeremy is the best reviewer because he actually gets opinions from random hot girls while the others just talk about their own autistic preferences

If you want to know how people will actually react to a fragrance in the real world you need to watch a reviewer that does that
>>
>>11789317
Is there any youtube frag reviewer that's actually good? Daver's a religious wingnut, mickers makes me cringe until my face implodes, dracdoc seems like a potential rapist, robes08 bores the shit out of me, Jeremy... well, you know.
I find fragranceapprentice to be tolerable when he isn't being a pretentious fuckhead. Katie puckrick is probably the best.
>>
>>11789681
Jeremy is good if you aspire to be a douche who goes after basic bitches.
>>
>>11789692
How many fragrance guru women do you actually think you will run across in the real world? Most are basic af and will respond well to certain scents. Thats why Jeremy's channel is good, it isn't about niche for niche's sake, it just focuses on what will realistically get you compliments.

This is just the classic chan stereotype that women lack identity enough to have any sort of preference that diverges from the norm. Girls' preferences aren't restricted to Jeremy's magical litmus tests and street interviews of 2 women. On one hand, not many people are going to find old school chypres and blood and semen scents to be attractive. I don't need some faggot on YouTube to tell me what's attractive and what isn't.
>>
>>11789745
You're completely missing the point retard

Unless you have a specific girl in mind and ALREADY know her scent preferences it is financially and logically the most sane decision to wear a fragrance that is generally crowd-pleasing. And yes, women typically have certain scent preferences, just as men typically have certain scent preferences. Some things will smell formal, some thing will smell sensual, some things will smell old in general to most people. Knowing in general how most people will react to a certain scent is key and is exactly why the youtube talking heads are of limited value unless they go ask normies.

Of course, if you just want to wear a unique smell for the sake of being unique you can do whatever the fuck you want, but in general the perspective of normies will help ground you if you don't want people to raise their eyebrows.
>>
>>11789763

I get what you're saying, but I still don't want to watch an insufferable faggot on YouTube with a weird la nuit obsession flip his hair back and forth.

Also, he advocates overspraying which makes your whole post irrelevant. He's just another elevator guy, and you are too if you emulate him.

His videos can be up to 15-20 minutes long and you can take a step back and think "I learned absolutely nothing from this video"

His vids can be summarized by this:
>It's so bland, boring, uninteresting, synthetic, bland, boring just totally...
>And I was like WOAH! That's so weird!
>It's just so bland, boring, uninteresting...

I don't get how people can spend more than 5 minutes bullshitting about a single scent.

Scent of Peace for Him - excellent daily driver. Juicy, dark fruit and wood; very potent, long lasting; all-season. Compliment getter.

Eau de New York - super modern, long lasting Cologne. All of the citrus plus all of the florals, crispy green and mossy and woody notes, with a subtle water note that really closes the sale for me.

Chez Bond - No it's Not Green Irish Tweed. This one is citrus tea plus green over wood. Sweet and smooth. Good projection and longevity. Women like this one.

Traditional method:
1) Take a hot shower
2) Apply some urine socked in cotton balls in the neck region
3) Wait until the urine completely dries down
4) Spray your desired perfume at those areas

PS
Semen can also be a good substitute for urine :^)

a) Never buy anything from a dude named Paco.

b) When testing / shopping, don't take advice or recommendations from sales reps. They are paid to get you to buy and will say anything to earn a sale. Sniff bottles and spray cards in store to see what you like. Hassle Sephora girls for sample vials of two or three scents from the OP infographic to explore styles that interest you. Wear your samples to school / work for full days to see how they last and project. Then buy online.

c) Don't fall for youtube reviewer or basenotes meme fragrances and don't choose scents just because they're talked up by lots of people. Cop what you really enjoy and what fits your personal style.

Back from market trip and an indoor brunch. Kouros has a completely different personality between the two.

It's right at home in the heat, good enough to push through the market smell without that toilet vibe. The citrus keeps it from being cloying and the musk smell is like sun-darkened wet skin under the mediterranean sun.

Indoors the smell reminds of foggy hot baths and cold tiles mixed with soap and spices.

Both are perfectly inoffensive in the right situation and I guess the pickyness of Kouros is from the way it stands out loudly in an inappropriate setting.

I did two half sprays under my shirt.

Tried the whole Zegna Essenze line (not the gold releases). Ambrette and Oud stood out for me but neither were worth full bottles.

Ambrette has a more aromatic and dry opening (and the better scent, IMHO). It smelled like the inside of a wood chest with a touch of pine. Too bad it didn't last long before it was reduced to the base of every other woody scent around.

Oud is a rose/oud done by the numbers. Smooth and long lasting, but nothing new.

Shit better blow my mind at that price tier, and not simply be "mmkay".

Copped L'Homme Ideal. Very nice boozy almond/tonka frag. Dumb reach quality but it has enough personality to stand on its own.

Pro: Masculine-sweet without smelling juvenile. Will not offend anyone. Tonka makes girls wet.

Con: Just average performance. Not unique/challenging enough.

It'll occupy the tonka hole in my collection until I burn through the 50ml, but I'm not getting a second bottle.

>Profumum Roma Ichnusa
I've been on the search for a fig scent that I like as much as Philosykos but that lasts longer than it. Ichnusa is not that fragrance. For the first hour or so it's way too herbal for me. The drydown was pretty nice though.

>Comme de Garcons Wonderwood
Disgusting. Tried scrubbing it off, but it still remained. I didn't expect it to be so bitter. The vetiver really comes through on this one. And I'm not a vetiver fan.

>Escentric Molecules Molecule 01
I don't know, I can't smell it aside from a whiff of alcohol right when I spray it.

>Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier Ambre Precieux

I'd lean towards summer, but there are no hard and fast rules about that.
>>
I've heard that female parfume on men is actually more attractive because women like the smell of their parfumerie which is why they buy it. Is it true? Generally female perfume contains musk which is known to turn females on.
>>
I'm after a nice summer fragrance and I've heard that TF NP does the job well. However, I;ve also heard that it smells a lot like 4711. My problem with 4711 is that it lasts for an extremely short amount of time, whereas NP tends to last slightly longer. I've seen the new TF NP Forte, which is an improved version of the NP EDP, and a lot of people say it lasts longer. Should I spend the extra few bucks and buy the Forte or stick with the NP EDP original? Also, what's the best Tom Ford spring/summer fragrance that has a nice sillage and longevity?

Thanks

Portland General Store's Whiskey is pretty woody. I just ordered a bottle after going through their samples.
Or you can go all in and go for Juniper ridge's stuff. Then we are talking full on christmas trees and moss

Is a wine cooler for storage just a meme or actually worth it?

It works, but it's up to you to determine if it's worth it.

I know it works, but I can't be fucked to drop money on it.

Anyone else try Slumberhouse's latest offering? I wasn't expecting to like something with notes of goat hair, mint, and ash (and I don't) but I felt I had to give it a shot. Very dry musk with a bit of a cool mint somewhere in the background that mostly gets drowned out.

Works, but not worth it. Keep your fragrances in an airtight plastic tub in a cool dry place away from sunlight and they would last decades. Personally I switch out the stuff on my shelf weekly to keep things interesting.

>>11810800
Get Ferrari Bright Neroli. NP dupe without the 4711 performance problem.

>>11810787
You, as a whole, are attractive or not. You could wear Brut and as long as you're well put together, women will like you. It doesn't work the other way around.

Tl,dr: Stop being creepy and wear what complements your style.

On the edge of copping Sartorial and Juniper Sling, but I can't shake the feeling that I'd be overpaying.

>>11809357
Pick an inbetweener like London or Fahrenheit.

>>11808272
Try the Hermes Jardin line. Guerlain Teazzura is also good.

For vials with no atomizer usually I use a third of the juice as a general rule. Splash it on my wrists and dab on the neck. A few days of wearing is usually enough to figure out if it's worth buying.

leaving for a wedding soon.

3pm, not sure if it's in or outdoors but the reception is indoors.

25ish degrees C currently.

Memeventus or reflection man?
>>
>>11810800
It's completely up to you but honestly I don't find Neroli Portofino to be worth the money, there are plenty of similar smelling fragrances that are much cheaper and last just as long if not longer (Mugler Cologne, Gianfranco Ferre Bergamotto Marino, Ferrari Bright Neroli). If you do want to stick with Tom Ford I would suggest Mandarino di Amalfi, Rive d'Ambre, Azure Lime and even Grey Vetiver over Neroli Portofino

Here are some 'nice' summer scents that I recommend checking out:
Olfactive Studio Still Life
Acqua di Parma Essenza di Colonia
Bond No. 9 Eau de New York
Atelier Cologne Bergamote Soleil
Atelier Cologne Pomelo Paradis
Eau D'Italie Acqua Decima
Xerjoff Nio
Bois 1920 Oltremare
Armani Prive Figuier Eden
>>
>>11811836
Reflection is more appropriate because it's more elegant. Aventus will make you smell like a woman-hunter. Also, it will only last for the wedding and you're left with the birch for the reception. Refection is more linear and will carry through to the reception with the florals.
>>
>>11810800
Forte smells nearly identical to Eau de New York, which is much cheaper ($110 / 100ml @bs right now) and super long lasting. Worth researching.

If money wasn't a concern what fragrance would you wear daily?

I think I'd have to go with Invasion Barbare, such a great fucking scent.

Depends where you live. If you live in a very hot area, you might want to look into it.
>>
>>11812428
Yeah, apparently the iris/orris root note is really noticeable but I don't know what that actually is supposed to smell like so I can't comment on it. I just know that it smells like a dry place with goats. It's certainly interesting but not pleasant to my nose.

GIT is a meme. Nothing special for the price. Tres nuit smells almoat identical for a fraction of the price and actually lasts longer

Dior homme intense is by far better than the original. Last longer, is stronger and more masculine smelling. No ifs of buts

Jubilation and terre d'hermes I'll agree with. They're pretty goat

Tom ford tv is kinda meh.

My top 5:
Dior homme intense
YSL Live Jazz
Chanel Bleu de Chanel edp
Terre d'hermes
Lastly, as pleb as it is, CK one. Nice simple scent that has stood the test of time. Perfect for warmer casual wear

Just applied Secretions Magnifiques. It doesn't smell like cum...at least not mine. But it is sort of metallic like blood. It smells clear if that makes any sense. I feel like this smell would make me feel sick if I couldn't get away from it. I can just barely pick up some sort of traditional fragrance that is being overwhelmed by the gross metallic accord though.
>>
>>11814003
No joke to me. Four of my top ten are animalic frags. The favorites being vintage Kouros and Antaeus.

Any animalic note comes from an animal, usually its musk gland. http://www.fragrantica.com/notes/ Third from the bottom. Well, they used to. Now it's all synthetic...

Civet pee is actually an ingredient in many perfumes incluiding Chanel No5.

Fragrantica doesn't list the exact composition of fragrances. They use the marketing blurbs from the companies and certainly they will not post when using pee as an ingredient, even if they use it. Because that's trade secret, my summer child. When complying to goverments for regulation they label it "Urea". Do you know what urea is? Fucking pee. If the urea is under certain percentage, then it's totally legal to put that on a perfume. They have to because you cannot hide things from chromatography.

Galaxolide had been treated worst lately than pee, fucking pee.
