comb your hair when you get out of the shower

You need a hard ass gel/wax(and use a lot of it) and the correct haircut(not too long/short).

Even when I do that it will still slightly hang over my forehead, do I need to cut my fringe in some speical way?

I use mild wax. Makes hair appear less dry after a shower and has a tiny bit of hold. Needed to go through a few kinds to find the best one for me. Also used matte fiber when I had shorter hair.

I use Wildroot hair groom.
It keeps the hair in place, feels natural (not sticky or irritating like gel or hair clay), gives it a "wet" and dark finish. Just got a new bottle yesterday for $14, good shit.
if you use that weird Garnier color protectant split ends oil applied small amount hair wet when you get out of the shower it stays

If you don't want the wet look, pomade works well.
