Hi fa. I've been looking for boots online and they are all either too expensive, faggy, or shit tier.

What are some good boot brands I could check out? So far I have looked:

- Chippewa (too expensive)
- Redwings (too expensive)
- Cat (too nig nog)
- Martens (too college girl who thinks she's badass)
- Clarks (too homosex)

I am looking for something in the 100-200 $ range, is this even possible?

Pic related are the kind of boots I want but these score at about 350 bucks. Can you recommend me other boot brands I should check out?
>>
This is about the best value you'll find.
They're made by chippewa.

Red Wing or Whites Boots are the best investment if you can afford them.

Bean boots.
>>
Seriously fuccboi.

Just save up for a pair of redwings. They last a lifetime if you take care of them.
Go to a place where they know their shit and learn how to properly take care of your boots and you'll be happy with your decision

Wolverine.
Easy to find second hand for cheap on ebay.
>>
>>11625179

Yeah, do this for any of the high quality made in USA brands. Just find a pair that didn't work for the original owner based on fit and are still pretty new. Don't buy some clapped out old work boots. You want them to break in with your feet. My Red Wing 877s are 5 years old and have aged beautifully. I've technically spent about $55/year on them so far, which is nothing. They'll go another 10 years easily.

You can get Red Wing Heritage and Wolverine 100 miles for under $200 if you shop enough sales.

Seconding this, have 2 pairs of their boots, and absolutely amazing for the price.

Honesty I'd just save up and get something nice like Redwings. As the others have said, they'll last forever and not only look good but can also hold up to actual winter wear. I've got a pair of cigar featherstone Beckmans, and it's probably the best purchase I've made. Go great with everything and can be dressed up or down.

Price range is a bad one because you are a bit too high for a pair of mass produced boots, but you are too low to get a pair of high-quality ones.

A pair of high-quality boots will last you 10+ years, a bad pair maybe a year or two. I would suggest Carlos Santos jumper boot, but that would be in the 300 region. It's a lot of boot for the money though.

>>11625197
Shill or not, bean boots are pretty well made.

I'm not sure if they're still around, but Timberland had two "high end" offshoot companies, Abington and Timberland Boot Company. Both are decent and usually sub $150. Chippewas are built better though, but kinda clunky to me. Don't like the soles either. Aren't they sub $200?
>>
Do Dr. Martins last for a long time? i"m thinking about copping a pair in the fall.
>>
>>11625371
Reddit's goodyearwelt has some brand reviews for them, but essentially they are mixed QC with some questionable leather, but aesthetically nice for the price.

Cop the made in england collection. The rest are made in China and are shit quality. Made in england however, are amazing. Well worth the price

I bought myself a pair of Clarks Desert Malis the other day, pretty happy so far. Simple styling and versatile, I just hope they break in soon.

>>
>>11625023
I personally own a pair of these (got them way back in the day when I was a poor law student) and would recommend them, though I'd be careful to look up recent reviews of them. Last time I was in an LL Bean, the quality had seemed to drop for some reason.

With that said, you'd be a fool not to shoot for the $200-400 range. Much better options, much hardier options, etc. Cheaper boots - like Clarks - tend to fall apart, at least in my experience. Most boots in the $200-400 range are much nicer and will - with proper care - last you a lifetime. Better to spend $350 once than $200 twice or more over a lifetime.

Go on etsy and ebay and look for used/vintage redwings or golden retrievers. I recently found a pair of used Golden Retrievers for 60 bucks on etsy. They were in excellent shape.

I think those are red wings in the pic. This is the exact pair i bought. I'm not sure what the model is and there's some text stamped on the leather but its half worn off and i cant make it out. I don't think they even make Golden Retrievers in this style anymore :/

Honestly you might be better off spending more for higher quality
I bought a pair of redwing heritage boots and I love them, take any kind of punishment whatsoever, I fully expect to have and use these boots for years to come with no issues
