how does /fa/ rate selvedge against regular?
i just picked up some edwin ED-80 rainbow selvedge, opinions? pic related
What the fuck, is this 2009?
its making a comeback in the UK as far as i can see
Selvedge is just a decoration. I do like to buy my jeans raw, though.
made with the wrong sewing machine
they won't fade properly
I recommend you send them in to a shop (Mildblend, Darn It!, etc if you're in America; something similar if you're overseas) to have the pants re-hemmed with a 4230g; it'll cost like 15 bucks and they'll look better
i'm unsure to do an immediate soak with these or just deal with the bleeding, do you have a preference? >>11604151

if you wash them they will not fade correctly
goodbye every colour except blue in my life, in that case >>1160459
>>11604164
Nonsense. There's no "correct" way for jeans to fade.

A soak or wash before wear will soften the fabric and remove some excess dye. It's only really necessary with unsanforized (not pre-shrunk) fabric, but I do usually give all my jeans a soak before wearing them for the first time.

that's not true
there's a laundry list for good fading
>not wearing black skinny levis
back to mfa you old white men
>>11604380
Why does the leg get bigger?
>>11604730
>wearing levis
>telling other people to go to mfa

Lol, this.
Love when plebs try to play elitist. Sit down.
I used to be really into raw and selvedge denim, I started working out and those jeans got too small for me.
I want to buy a new pair but I don't know how things have changed since then, I'm not gonna buy anything too crazy, but a nice pair of dark dark indigo skinny guys should still be good right?
I'm tempted to start going up in price now I'm a bit more grown up and have a job and can sepnd money on expensive items of clothing, I'm thinking of supporting a local brand and going with Raleigh denim, but even as a fashion afficionado/someone who can appreciate expensive items it's hard to warrant a $200-$300 pair of jeans.

Raleigh does sales, dude
they're a good brand

I dont read japanese could someone explain this...
the non selvedge raws have ugly colors, and i hate the idea of cuffing jeans. but then why would i buy selvedge jeans if i don't cuff em to show the selvedge line ?
