Hey mates. I had never used a facial cleanser or moisturizer before, so I picked up this along with a daily facial moisturizer by the same company. Since I started using them in the mornings, I've had small bumps on my forehead and a few minor pimples. Thoughts? Am I allergic to the moisturizer?
most likely the moisturizer rather than the cleanser. I used that cleanser too but then realized it was too drying. Switched to cerave hydrating cleanser instead. I have the master race routine if anyone wants to hear about it. Months of products searching to find the best ones
It should get better after some time, at least it got better in my case.

Sure, and what's your skin type?

Did you have any acne beforehand? I had absolutely none but it didn't start until I used the products lol

pretty dry and acne prone. I wash with cool water in the morning, apply neutrogena hydro boost water gel or clean and clear hydrating gel int he morning and then after it dries apply banana boat protect and hydrate sunscreen. At night I wash with cerave hydrating cleanser and then put on alpha hydrox aha enhanced lotion. Wait 15 mins or so and then put my moisturizer on. No breakouts and my skins better than ever.

Hmm maybe I'm not waiting long enough between washing my face and putting the moisturizer on.. I'll try waiting 15 mins

no the wait is between the aha and the moisturizer. You dont really need to wait after cleansing. just pat dry and apply the moisturizer after. I broke out from moisturizers too until I found the right one
Btw my usual boards are /fit/ and /mu/. Thanks for actually helping instead of trolling for the first 15 posts

Do you know of any good gel ones? I like the matte finish because I tend to look greasy even if I apply normal moisturizer lightly

Yeah. When I get acne I start using cleanser, I get even more bumps (doesn't really matter what type of cleanser I use, it always gets worse). After it disappears I stop using cleanser (mostly because I forget about it).

The ones I said are my favorite, Hydro boost is expensive though. Clean and clear morning burst hydrating gel is cheap and great.

You may be putting on too much moisturizer. I eased up on the amount I use and my skin is more well-behaved now (then again, I do have oily/combination skin, so it'll probably be different for everyone)

Awesome, Ill try the clean and clear.
