no they aren't. mirrors are closer to how people actually perceive you.

I think in photos the asymmetry of my face is magnified, so I look worse. In motion I believe I am more attractive.

However people tell often tell me I am good looking, and girls and guys seem to be interested in me more than in others. Whenever I read someone describe what it is like to be attractive I recognize what they describe.

But I think I'm kind of weird looking or something.

Certain people are probably more critical of themselves than others.

I cannot say yes enough to this. If you treat your body well your self esteem and general mental place changes immensely for the better.

For the best exercise I would recommend joining a climbing gym if you can as there is a HUGE mental aspect to climbing as well as the physical challenges. You may look at a big wall and think "How could I ever climb that?" and then you do and it feels great.

Generally speaking, you should probably mix some sort of cardio and some sort of strength oriented activity, doing one every other day (climbing & running, cycling & lifting). The muscle you gain will look great but the cardio will work wonders for your mental health (think of it as a form of meditation). Cardio will in time sharpen your mental focus and strength, benefitting your self-esteem.

As far as diet goes eating healthy is easy and tasty. Eat a lot of vegetables, fruits and healthy protein with healthy fats and carbs in moderation. If you eat great you will feel great thats just how life is. A better diet may also give you better skin, hair, etc so you will also look great.

Most phone camera lens will be around the 35mm in that photo. . Your face is always going to be distorted with a phone camera because it's a wide angle lens. Shove a wide angle lens that close to your face and it's going to distort the shit out of it. Bulbous nose, pushed back ears, long and slender face, etc

Ideally you want 85mm or above for traditional portraits. Anything less will give you distortion. For comparison, the iphone uses a 35mm focal length. Notice how her face is elongated, the nose is enlarged etc, compared to something like the 100mm where it's much more natural. That's why your phone selfies make you look like shit.
