Why does /fa/ hate palewave now?

It had potential to be something more. The only rule of it was using colors with a lighter value. That leaves you with plenty of creative room.

But instead most people stagnated on the pink shirt, light blue jeans, and all white sneakers fit. Especially the last two. It was amazing that with so much room to explore and it got distilled into that instead.

It was really all the poor kids who just discovered fashion yesterday going and buying shitty ill fitting uniqlo basics and thinking that if they coordinate it all in one palette, it suddenly becomes fashion gold, when is reality it's just plain, boring and uncreative

This to an extent. I agree that having a homogenized color scheme can be a good thing. But when your fit is lacking on other aspects it will be apparent and bring the fit down.
