music taste is subjective. depending on where you get your music news and recommendations, you'll like some % of what you give a chance, dislike some %, and then never get exposed to 99% of other music because there's so much fucking music.

you still develop your own tastes, it's just etched out of whatever 1% you're exposed to in your life and what you're doing is trying to feel like your small, personal 15% fraction of the 1% you get a chance to listen to is better than everyone else's personal 15% of their total 1%.

/mu/core is also like 20 albums tops, you're thinking of p4kcore which overlaps with like every other publication in the indie blogosphere. congrats, you pinned that i like popular indie music.
