That one line from the fashion director ("beauty isn't everything... it's the ONLY thing") hasn't left my head since.

it's really good. quite visual, which took a while to get used to, but it's beautiful as hell and so is the soundtrack.the symbolism is clever (especially the bondage club thing at the start) but i feel like Winding-Refn lingered too long on one shot most of the time. He could have put so much more great symbolism like that in there. I know it's about appreciating the beautiful shots but many times the scenes surpassed that point, diminishing the beauty of the sequence. Still, second best film I've seen in the cinema this year. Best one being "Der Bunker".
