Are watches the only option for wristwear?
It is not the only option, but it is the best and only form of wristwear a man ever needs.

The reason it is the best is because it has a direct function.
The next best thing is either a family heirloom, or something you yourself made and crafted from raw materials.

>it has a direct function
>says anon, while wearing $400 shoes that offer no practical benefits over a pair of cheap sneakers
These autists don't realize that jewelry makes you look stylish, as long as you don't overdo it. Chains can look good, I got a lot of compliments just from wearing a nice silver one.
I do think other men respect you more if you wear a watch, l have a feeling you start looking like a more reliable person.

Even $400 shoes are less frivolous then some bead bracelet for $7 at some hippie shop.

That's like wearing sketchers and saying sneakers look bad. Never said you should wear a cheap hippy bracelet.

My point is at least the shoes have a function.
At the very least the wristwear should have the function of projecting status. What that status is is up to you. Wealth is the most common status choosen to be projected by jewelry and shit like that. That of course is not the only one.

How is this an alternative?
You could opt for leather bands and beads. They're usually paired up with a wrist watch as an accent. Like accessories to an accessory. Beads really aren't my taste, but if alt wristwear is what you're looking for...
