>What is techwear?
Clothing designed to have specific functional properties incorporating new fabrics and technologies, but worn as everyday clothing.

Post your inspiration, relevant brands and individual garments, fit pics, Tumblr and Instagram pages, questions, and any discussions about the aesthetic.

All aspects of the aesthetic are welcome.

Question: Does lunarcore go hand to hand with techwear. I don't really know much about lunarcore myself, but It looks like they'll go together pretty well.
>>
>>11533391
lunarcore seems like a vintage techwear with a lighter color palette

They might be, I contributed some of it and have a copy that I think has a couple more on it, I'll sort something out in the next day or so

Probably speaking for a large part of the people that want to get into this aesthetic, but don't have the budget yet to cop some of the amazing brands like Acronym.

Then I found 0608 and the Won to USD conversion makes these affordable as heck! I heard one person was able to buy them outside of South Korea.

Just wondering, how they do it, and hows the quality?

Just learned that Dressed down is going under.
>Dressed Down will end imminently. Archive.org cached versions of each page as they existed as of July 14, 2016 are provided. At the top of each archived page, there is another Archive.org link reflecting the articles at publication - this is mentioned as several people have mentioned citing this website. If for some reason you need to reach out, [email protected] will be active for a short time.

Rest in peace
>>
>>11533467
Not op, but I have a domain, if there is enough interested I will look into hosting a copy

Would you consider adidas tiro pants to be tech enough? They have sweat wicking material, have plenty of pocket room, and have zips from the ankle to midcalf

I wear them a lot, I think theyre the best slim pants for the money.
>>
>>11533485
Fair enough just wanted to offer having something that isn't as slow
>>
>>11533467
You know... I always felt like updating some things on Tuxbell. We should expand on the Techwear section.
>>11533488
Good if you're entering the aesthetic. I never tried those, but I wore something similar in Uniqlo the Dry stretch sweatpants.
>>
>>11533488
The branding is pretty minimal too, looks like a solid option anon
>>
>>11533511
They're actually made for running and soccer so I think they'll do.

>>11533520
There are tons of colors for these. Most of them are a base color with white stripes but some are tonal and have "invisible" stripes like the picture if youre not into the slav look.

>>11533511
Yeah, I'll be interested on working on the /fa/ wiki.

Is having a low set a hair the best for the style? Most models I see posing for these techwear companies seem to all share this.
>>
>You'll never have a warm, cozy, UV reflecting, breathable gf
>Why even live
>>
>>11533728
I think its an all or nothing thing. It seem like every model either has no hair or long/tied up hair.
>>
>>11533785
I guess it would make sense have little hair, or less hair in the way. If you think about the idea behind techwear. Being minimal and functional, having no hair would mean less to worry about when in motion.

Yeah, it was me.

I already mentioned in one of the previous threads that I got in touch with 0608's designer - master Choi - via instagram and he agreed to accept the payment for order via paypal, so everything was done outside the website. However, he mentioned that they definitely have plans to adopt the site for international customers in the near future.

I ordered just a few tank tops, a t-shirt, pants and a vest from the OP picture. The quality is there, definitely worth the money. The shipment was done via EMS, so it took only 7 days to receive it. Overall I'm very pleased with 0608's clothes. However, I bought only basics, so I can't say anything about the hardshells that they have in the "sail" section.

BTW would it be a nice idea to send the link to this thread to mr Choi? I see there are lots of people interested in theirs clothes. Don't know but maybe he would be willing to answer some questions?

Well, the pants are the only thing that I missed the size. And it was totally my bad. All the sizes were clearly there, on the site. So I sent them back for exchange. But anyway, they are comfy and very lightweight. I would say that they a perfect for summer. However, they are really stretchy, so I can't find the lower pockets to be very functional because of it. I would not put my phone in there, for example.
>>11536724
Well yeah, after a day spent with this t-shirt, I'd say that the straps are pain in the ass. I guess, they are only there just for the looks. Every time I tried to put on a jacket, I was getting entangled with those damn straps.

BTW I'm waiting right now for a bomber by another cheap korean brand (http://www.fnty.net/). And the damn straps are also there. Pic related. I really don't get all that obsession with straps.
>>
>>11537146
Well the point of the straps is to have it hang off the wearers back or side when they want to take it off instead of putting it down or tying it around the waist. Things that could slow mobility. Which I don't understand why they would have that on a t-shirt because no really does that.

Also, did you link him to the thread?

True, but the criticism is a bit...well disconcerting given the price of their stuff like their pants.
>>
>>11543942
yeah that's true. it's easy to resell on grailed though, some cargo pants went for retail in like 2 days.

idk, their tanks and cargo pants are the strongest pieces imo. and the forever sold-out noragi of course.
>>
>>11543949
I love their cargo joggers, but $310 seems like a hefty price considering a) what they are and b) what I've heard about them.
>>
>>11543955
i want the paratrooper cargos that go for 280.
the fact is that i can't find anything better for that price with that kind of design, the other things i can think of are risky milsurp stuff that i would probably have to taper - and i don't know how to do that - or acronym which costs more than twice.

the other alternatives like maharishi, etc. don't look quite as cool as GG

I love techwear, it looks amazing. Some can pull the techninja look, but really. To me it looks a bit to much like a try hard, I would rather by a hard shell from stuff like

I think people who are bashing SUFU tried to post their shitty fits there and got negged real hard, so they're still butthurt because they couldn't fit in. They're calling it 'turd forum' while posting tons of fits as 'inspo' from there, picrel for example. I'm very sad to see forums like sufu, fuk die, because people there are very knowledgeable on a subject and don't hide behind anonymity to shit on other people and actually post their fits while sharing useful information. Waywt there has very little cringe compared to fa's, people were more picky because of reputation.

So what? Their main WM line is not techwear oriented, they have some nice Gore-Tex jackets, but overall brand has very different direction. Their BLK sublabel is techwear oriented and pretty much all garments are made from outdoor fabrics (mostly Pertex and Gore-Tex). These shorts are trash and don't belong in this thread.
>>
>>11555826
No, it applies in whatever climate you are in. Merino is moisture wicking and works quite well during summer heat. Take a look at the cool-lite shirts from Icebreaker

Mission Workshop is Lululemon-tier biking crap in black and charcoal colorways. It is massively overpriced and the designs are nothing special at all.
TAD is going bankrupt and all their good designs are out of production. It was mostly just glorified surplus anyway. Try Arcteryx LEAF if you like TAD. Much better made and more designs.

You've obviously never tried anything from either of them
>>
>>11567821
You obviously are butthurt someone called out your over-priced shit. It is China made and finished in the USA, enough to put the Made in USA tag in it. It is nothing special. I have handled both. The designs are not anatomical for the most part and the textiles are previous level. Not worth the price they charge for any of their outerwear. Their bags are ok, if you are into that faux workwear aesthetic they are going for.
>>
>>11567841
Hardly butthurt, I've tried items from both, all lululemon use are cheap stretch fabrics that don't feel all that nice whereas mission workshop use fabrics from schoeller and polartec which feel better and actually perform

Sorry dude the stuff looks shit and is only suited to the diehard brand whore cyclists who like the brand. Doesn't really belong here. Can get far better designed and made gear for cheaper from other brands.
>>
>>11567860
Then post one of these brands, if you think there is something better then prove it. So far all you have done is say you don't like the look of their clothing and backup it up by posting someone with a bit of a belly
>>
>>11567872
Prove what? If you want to pay $600 for Uniqlo-tier coated polyester shit that is made for 35 year old dad-bod cyclists, then go right ahead.
>>
>>11567876
You still can't distinguish between polyester and wpb nylon, then why are you in a techwear thread?
>>
>>11567887
nylon is a type of polyester retard
>>
>>11567895
>nylon is a type of polyester retard

You must be a special kind of stupid
>>
>>11567895
>>11567902
You are both retarded. Nylon is a different class of synthetic polymers than polyesters, but polyester is far superior to nylon for water repellency. Both textiles are extremely inexpensive to manufacture either way, which makes the premiums companies like Mission Workshop charge for their garments, especially considering their basic cookie cutter pattern designs, a bit ridiculous.
>>
>>11567905
Probably worth noting that the waterproof breathable nylon has an eptfe membrane which should be inexpensive to mass produce but suffers from patents and rights pushing the price up
>>
>>11567905
Nylon isn't naturally water repellent at all; it wets through quickly when untreated. That's irrelevant, though, because shells aren't made of untreated nylon. With a waterproof membrane and a water-repellent coating, both polyester and nylon will keep water out just fine. Nylon is preferred, though, because it's stronger, tougher, and more breathable. It also doesn't absorb body oils and start smelling like ass after a few months.

As for cost, have you ever tried to buy WPB fabric? It ain't cheap. It's not in the same range as good wool, but it's definitely not cheap, and there's a whole lot of labor and other materials that go into making a jacket.
>>

are cobra buckle belts any good? any recommendations for a specific one?

Social media killed forums in general, not just SUFU. Old users grew up and moved with their lives, new users prefer Facebook, Instagram etc.

Because
>Techwear or Urban Techwear, is a subset of technical clothing with an aesthetic that is contemporary or futuristic, fashionable/stylish, and is designed specifically for your common city-dweller's day-to-day situations.
Arcteryx is designed for outdoors and doesn't meant to be worn in the city, unless you want to look like a tourist.

They look cool, but too heavy and bulky, i don't recommend buying ir if you want comfort. You may seen cobra bellt in Acronym lookbooks, but Errolson doesn't wear it in everyday life.

Just buy any webbing belt you like, personally I just bought some webbing, plastic buckles and made belts for every pair of pants I own. Belts aren't visible anyway.
