For anyone looking for fragrance suggestions, give as much information as possible about what you want. Helpful info could include gender, price range, climate/season, need (work/clubbing/etc.), notes/families you like/dislike, and other perfumes you've tried and liked/disliked.

I often see reviews on Basenotes and other fragrance sites saying "this smells like essential oils" in a negative kind of way. But, I really like natural smelling things (no aquatics, powdery scents, etc).

Any good reccs for something along those lines? Should I fall for the essential oil meme?

Anyone try this stuff? I think this is underrated. Sort of like the original but sportier and only costs like $30 for 4.2oz. If I smoke a cigar I like it because it blends with the smell with its incense note, and overpowers it with the aqua/citrus. Stuff projects good and lasts a long time too.
>>
>>11480253

Did you know that all the Tom Ford Private Blend decanters go up to $600 at the end of the month? Now is definitely the time to buy. I already have TL though.
>>
In general, how much should you spray from a 1 ml decant (Sephora) compared to a bottle? I've been doing 3 sprays for every spray from a bottle but I don't know if I should apply more.
>>
>>11480705
3 sprays is good

depends on the atomizer. do you think it's spraying more or less than ones on bottles you're familiar with? in any case, don't see much of a point deviating from the 3 sprays rule of thumb

Just copped Zegna Uomo for cheap. Don't hear much talk about this online, or anywhere for that matter. It's a nice casual citrus/woody frag that's gonna be a go-to for me this summer for running errands & doing low-key stuff that I don't want to waste my better frags on.

If anybody has this / has smelled this, can you tell me which fragrances it reminds you of? It sort of has a generic vibe to it, like something I've definitely smelled before but I can't place it.

Notes are Violet Leaf, Citrus, Bergamot, Vetiver, Cedar.

For the record, I remember the fragrance that this reminded me of: L'Homme Libre. I'm sure there are others as well that have the similar vibe because like I said, it's relatively generic. But L'Homme Libre is what it was making me think of. The notes on fragrantica are pretty similar, but the cedar in Zegna I think sets it apart a little from the YSL.

It's okay, success is a bit better in my opinion. Yes, those massive amounts of dislikes are from butthurt faggots. And this is coming from a guy who's never particularly been all that into trump.

Donald Trump - Good for spring, maybe summer. I say Spring because of the woodiness and spiciness that might make it too much for overly-hot summers.

Success - Prefer this, it's okay as well.

They're cheap enough to where if you like them enough, you can just go ahead and get a bottle with no worries. I don't think it'll necessarily blow your mind, though.
>>
>>11484034
I heard Success is not for everyday wear, but for partying, is this true?
>>
>>11483960
Judging based purely off bottle design, it's cheap ,corny 80's styling, and gaudy. Would be embarrassed to have it in my collection.
>>
>>11484067
I don't know, to be honest.

As I said, they're not mind blowing. When I think "cologne", scents like this pop to my mind. They smell good, but they're really just something you put on if you want to wear cologne. Where as I would probably vouch for Divin' Enfant or Moss Breches.

I could see it in partying, but I could see someone wearing it casually. The price is cheap so I suppose it's just one of those things where you can go "I like it, I'll wear it when I feel like it."

Then let's figure out what you like. Go to a store that ideally gives out samples, or at least has tester bottles you can spray on yourself. The trick is to spray something on your forearm no more than twice and see how it develops on your skin over 1/2 day or so. It's best to do one at a time, but in a pinch you can do one on each arm if you have to travel out of your way to get to the store.

As for what to try, check out http://www.basenotes.net/bn_todaysscent.php?p=boys&t=alltime for some suggestions for popular scents. Many of those are "niche" and will be harder to find at most places and also will be much more expensive, so feel free to ignore for now. Don't get the idea that Creed is the best house out there from that list. I'm pretty sure they are just really good at viral marketing.

>>
>>11484112
Prob don't have to worry unless what you're wearing is already pretty mainstream, in which case it already has a good chance of catching on with the masses. Jeremy rarely reviews niche / obscure frags, and when he does it's usually to say "The ladies don't like this, I wouldn't recommend."

>>11484201
If you're not aware, there's a pretty big "community" of guys on youtube who review fragrances. Jeremy by far has the most subs, views, and is the most mainstream. His channel 99% revolves around wearing fragrances that girls think are sexy, vs appreciating the art of perfumery like many other channels. He gets a lot of shit, but nobody else is really doing what he's doing so I don't really hate on him. Even though he hypes up stuff like the new Invictus flanker, and the new Le Male flanker.

Also he's a male model and is clearly adored by many women so a bunch of dudes hate on him out of pure jealousy (imo).

Not the same guy but imo;
Very nice sweet leather, the whole fragrance is very soft on my skin and it's probably one of my favorite leather fragrances. You will get the original AdP dna especially in the beginning and end. You also get a very tobacco-ish feel without actually smelling any distinct tobacco, kind of like ginger gives certain fragrances "brightness", it feels like the tobacco(if there is any) gives this fragrance depth rather than being an actual accord.

Good choice, the best from the brown bottle line imo.
>>
>>11485237

>>11485206
It is the best Leather/Tabacco scent I've come across, not comparable to Thierry Mugler for example. On BaseNotes and Fragrantica people tend to prefer this one over Tom Ford's Tuscan Leather. It's smells soft, expensive, has good sillage and projection and is a very masculine classy scent that younger people can pull off.
>>
>>11485171
I think it's easy to find the middle ground. If you like 1 Mill and happen to get compliments from it, good on ya. I just so happen to really like Sauvage and it gets me tons of compliments even though many frag-heads turn their nose up to it no pun intended. Also, this is the reason why I own multiple bottles of fragrance - some are more for crowd-pleasing occasions, some for more intimate occasions with my gf (wearing something I know she likes), some are more just "for me" as they never really garner any attention, etc. etc.
>>

>>
>>11485490
I'm with ya, I like it too. Certain vids come with an element of cheesiness, but who cares. There's so many guys on FB fragrance groups that talk shit about Jeremy. It's been around since the 70's, and it smells like it too. You should have no interest in wearing this unless it is for nostalgia purposes (which you're probably too young for), or if you just happen to truly love it. In which case, you probably wouldn't be asking for opinions.

Wearing it on my arm now. I love it for its uniqueness, but I don't think it comes off as a fragrance (in the smell-good way). It smells like you've had lunch in a smokey pizza place. Smoke, wood, oregano, hot sauce, some sort of synthetic medicinal vibe in the drydown.

>having more than 5 colognes in your collection

literally why. The point of wearing cologne is so people can put a smell to your face. Especially girls that you like. If you use so many different colognes than you are just ambiguous. The absolute most you should have is 5. One for a different season if you must, and 1 for an every day sage scent. I personally only have 4 since fall/winter are the same for me.
>>
Any guidelines for identifying counterfeits?
>>
>>11488105
They're a good house. I think they kind of get a bad rap due to the sheer volume of perfumes they release every year. Obviously when you do that you're going to end up with a lot of redundancy but there are some real gems in there. As far as price/quality/performance goes I don't think you can find a much better deal. Most of their fragrances can be found for right around or less than $100 online and performance across the board is excellent

>The point of wearing cologne is so people can put a smell to your face
That is one way to look at it. Some people like variety, and it makes them appreciate their fragrances more (this is the case for me). I used to be a one-and-done guy with fragrances, but I would get burnt out on them super quick. Besides, sometimes I just like smelling good. But I don't want to waste my good shit if I'm just going to the store, or having casual drinks with friends.

To your point, you could easily become simply "the guy that always smells fucking awesome" just as you could become "the guy that always smells like Acqua di Gio."
>>
>>11488764

Like any house, they have their good scents and bad. Some of their ouds are quite close to actual oud oil and not what passes for "oud" in most scents. Aoud Cuir d'Arabie has become a top ten for me. Aoud Damascus and Aoud Lime are also excellent if you are an oud fan.

On Fragrantica and Basenotes they consider Icon as a remarkable designer fragrance and one of the best releases of 2015. It is far from "old" and linear like TDH; it is elegantly complex and unique and one of my fav winter scents next to Eau Sauvage Parfum. I would give it a try.

I have both Icon and Terre and I would say that they share as much in common as the pairing of Bleu and Sauvage (which I also have). Obviously not the same scent, but they share notes and have the same structure.

Terre has a dry peppery orange top. No sweetness or wetness in it, but citrusy like rind shavings (aromatic but not bitter). It doesn't strike me as old-smelling, but it is definitely the more serious and formal of the pair. I think people mistake authority for age, and this is the scent I definitely want to reach for when I want that powerful yet poised vibe.

Icon opens sweeter and wetter with a completely different flavor to Terre. I'm one of the people who observed it to be a grape soda vibe at first, and a few months after owning it I'd still settle for some sort of fizzy juice description. When the top burns off, the comparison to Terre is stronger, but where Terre is spicier and rougher to the nose, Icon has a sweeter, more blended fullness that takes off that potentially polarizing edge at the risk of dulling the fragrance. As a result it feels younger, friendlier, and less mature. I pick it whenever Terre is too serious for the situation.

Think two differing grains of sandpaper, same central concept but different in feel.

1. I don't wear frags to be recognizable. I wear them because I enjoy smelling different fragrances.

2. Hand in hand with 1, I have a big collection of frags I appreciate and enjoy smelling, either to be worn out or in private for my personal satisfaction.

3. The sheer variety adds another dimension and sense to my wardrobe. Imagine combinations of top layers, pants and shoes. Add numerous scents to that and the possibilities increase exponentially.

4. Season is not the only parameter for fragrance selection. You have time of day, weather, place, purpose, mode of dress, the people around you, your mood and the image you want to project.

5. Instead of associating fragrances with identity, I associate them with specific memories. I brought MI for my spring trip to Japan, Aventus for a work trip to Thailand, and Fahrenheit for a big office event. Using them again brings me back and puts me in the appropriate mood and frame of thinking.

6. Restricting yourself to a fragrance identity is the reason you end up smelling like an ex, an old man, someone's boss, someone's grandma, a dentist, father-in-law, club douche etc.

I can understand wanting to keep it simple, and I appreciate the effort to keep a small stable for variety (which is already more than most people do), but I would also like to help you understand that the reasons for wearing fragrances are not restricted to the ones you hold yourself to.

Armani Code Profumo smells good and people would love it. I think it could work well for all season and all purpose. Just be light on the trigger this summer.

Another all around perfume is The One EDP, which is relatively cheap from discounters. I got a 5 OZ of the stuff for $65.

Bleu De Chanel EDP or EDT?

Also do you have the original L'Homme or any other flanker?
>>
>>11491005

I've got the original L'homme and La Nuit. I have no idea if I'd buy the bleu edt or edp
>>
>>11491013

If you have the original and La Nuit you might as well look into Bleu De Chanel. Ultime is good but the original L'Homme is still better

Bleu De Chanel EDT if you want something to wear in every occasions

Bleu De Chanel EDP technically is the better fragrance but it feels more of a high end special occasion fragrance compared to the EDT. You could wear the EDP anywhere and anytime though.

Also the EDT smells fresher than the EDP.
>>
>>11491013
90% the same, but EDP is more fruity and EDT is more aquatic.

L'Homme and its flankers are just overdone at this point. Pleasant and likable, but at the same time generic and unimpressive.

>>
>>11491823
You could be talking about clothes, shoes, watches, bags... Why oh why would anyone buy an original when something that does the same thing costs so less? Because as owners we know that they lack that 2%, and it makes all the difference.

I owned Cool Water and moved on to GIT. I'm not going back.
>>
>>11491873
Cool Water is disgustingly cheap smelling
>>
>>11491013
You should branch out from the L'Homme line since you already have the two most popular ones. If you like these "crowd pleaser" types, you should give Dior Sauvage a go. For all the shit it is given, I think it smells fucking awesome. Also, the "after scent" it leaves on your clothes is fucking godly. For instance, if I wear a shirt a couple days later without washing it (assuming I didn't sweat in it, the shirt is still clean etc) I can still smell the leftover Sauvage on it. It's amazing
>>
>>11491823
It's all about the subtleties and the minute appreciations that some people have that others don't.

Yes, there are some things that smell similar. And yes, to the average person they won't care, and that's perfectly fine. But a lot of us here enjoy the small details and are willing to pay a premium for them. Some more so than others.
>>
>>11491823
The frags that Creed and TF produce are (mostly) really masterfully blended and tend to smell very natural. One thing that I always run in to when trying out "clones" or cheap imitations is 9 times out of 10 they smell synthetic.

>>11493657
EN smells like a pretty simple fragrance to me, like all the basenotes of a more complex frag. Sport adds a layer of citrus to that, making it a more complete and wearable scent. I find that the brightness loses the spirit of EN, that is, something like uprooting a bush and smelling the damp, rooty plant bits and earth.

Either way, not a fan, but I appreciate how unique its character is. Same with Narcisso Rodriguez for Him.

It being their intent isn't much of an argument either. You smell like realistic fresh cut grass-- cool, but GIT kicks it up to another level. Coffee, nice but then you got New Haarlem. They transcend the literal and weave it into something both familiar and unique at the same time.

I think Daver said it best when he said something like (I'm quoting from memory here) "I don't want to smell like Reese's... You have to do something with peanut butter that makes me want to wear it."

Starting to build up a little collection. Doing a pretty good job of only keeping stuff that I really like. I started getting into frags about a year and a half ago, and blind-bought a bunch of garbage that I didn't like. Luckily FB groups make it pretty easy to swap stuff off. I recently traded off a cheap Bvlgari fragrance for a 75% full BDC 150ml. Starting to get better about not blind-buying anymore.

It lasts for fucking ever. I can still smell it on me the next morning. Hell. I just sniffed my shirt today, and apparently you can still get a faint note of it on your shirt two days later.

I almost wanna cop it since I don't have any scents coming up for the winter but it always came off as a spring and summer scent to me.

Jeremy Fragrance: Real Life Edition

Having said that, some solid choices desu.

Do you prefer Dior Homme or Dior Homme Intense?

Does the Zegna smell like Armani Code?

How is Midnight in Paris?
>>
>>11496267
Ha! That pic is hilarious. And yea, I know my collection is pretty much /hypetrain/. But there are a few that Jeremy hypes up relentlessly that I definitely don't like. CH Men, Nautica Voyage, Perry Ellis Red are a few that I can think of.

>Do you prefer Dior Homme or Dior Homme Intense?
Man I was so disappointed with Intense. I fucking love original Homme, it's my fall/winter daily wear. I blind-bought Intense after much contemplation but I figured there would be no way I wouldn't like it. And it's not that I don't like it, but to me it just feels like a toned-down more chocolatey version of Homme. And longevity-sillage is horrendous on me. Prob gonna try and trade it off.

>Does the Zegna smell like Armani Code?
I think you're thinking of Zegna Intenso. I have Zegna Uomo. Copped it recently, it's just ok but it was only $17. Prob wear it as a gym scent / regular errands etc. for summer time. It's kind of generic smelling, but not bad. Reminds me a lot of L'Homme Libre.

>How is Midnight in Paris?
I have a lot of "favorite" fragrances, but MiP might have to be considered my overall favorite. It's tough to really declare that, but apart from loving the way that it smells I have really fond memories attached to it from when I first started wearing it. I bought it right before going to Copenhagen and Paris with my gf, and every time I smell it, it reminds me of that experience. And it gets me really good compliments. I only wear it in the winter, btw. It has a very androgynous vibe to it, which I like. Nice and powdery, leathery, sensual, "mysterious" even.
>>
>>11496093
most niches are <$200 for a bottle, though i know how you can get that misconception as Creed, Amouage, TFPB, get lots of play in these threads

try looking up Etat Libre d'Orange, L'Artisan, Diptyque, Serge Lutens, and Atelier Cologne for some of the lower priced niches (these retail from about $80-150, and I know for sure you can find some L'Artisan and Serge Lutens for cheaper online)

>>11496338
I have the EDP. There was a lot of talk about MiP being discontinued several months back and people went crazy stocking up on it. I have 1 bottle at about 70% full, and one backup bottle. It appears as though the EDT is still pretty easy to find and is still cheap on grey market, but the EDP indeed appears to be "out of stock" from the grey market sites. I haven't tried EDT yet.
>>
>>11496385
Thanks for the answer. I was thinking about blind buying the EDT version, because no store here has any MiP and the EDT is way cheaper than the EDP
>>
>>11496419
Blind buying can be a money pit, but it's hard for me to not tell you to just go for it. Especially when we're talking about $20 or so. imo, it's a very well made fragrance for being so cheap (of course it was never intended to retail for that cheap). Smells like quality ingredients, not synthetic. Just be aware that it's pretty much completely unisex, so if you're more of the uber masculine type you may not like it.
>>
Opinions on Armani Code?
>>
>>11496902
Was one of my first fragrances, and the base notes are actually kind of nice.

But, the top and mid is really synthetic to me, especially after getting more into fragrances, and it's very common now - i seem to smell it on everybody. Went for a haircut yesterday and my barber was wearing it.

You could definitely do a lot worse if you just want to smell nice - because it does do that - but ultimately it's pretty uninspiring.

In a similar vein to this is Endymion Concentré by Penhalgion's; a lot more expensive but a far better scent. Alternatively, the normal cologne version of this is also pretty good but lacks performance.
>>
holy fucking shit why would you people spend all of this money on this bullshit instead of choosing 1-3 essential oils you adore and wearing them (or blends of them) for rest of your life?

>16 oz sweet almond carrier oil $10

>>
>>11497105
Wearing and essential oil is in almost no way comparable to wearing a well made fragrance. The complexity and blends create effects not possible with single oils or even blends of a couple. They just are not the same thing. Sure they smell nice on their own, but I think you'd be pretty naive to claim there's no difference between wearing a jasmine essential oil and wearing Chanel No.5 - or between a lemon essntial oil and wearing Profumum Roma's Acqua Viva.

why is Jeremy Fragrance so bad at video editing. I don't even get most of the edits he does, like it's some type of german humour or something. Fuck. I'm swapping/selling Intense asap and buying Parfum then. That sounds right up my alley. Thanks for the info

>>11498082
It was the deal of the year for me, money-wise. It was a 100ml Bvlgari Aqva Amara which i spent $25 on. I threw in $10 on top of the swap to cover his shipping costs since there was an obvious value difference between the frags. The main thing to note is, the guy said it is a tester bottle that he "got" from Nordstrom when he used to work there. Which means he probably acquired it, and has no money invested in it to begin with. Still, a very lop-sided swap.

I'm probably not the best to ask about shipping/packaging because I haven't really found a tried and true way yet that's the most cost efficient. But, I typically print my own shipping label off usps.com and pay for a flat-rate padded envelope (if it's just the bottle with no box). Stuff some extra bubble wrap or packing paper in there and send it on its way. I think that option is under $7. Other times I'll use a box I already have laying around, and then just weigh it at the post office. It will usually be somewhere around the same ($7)

I don't mind his editing, it's actually pretty clever most of the time. Also, I think a lot of what you're finding to be strange is due to his incomplete comprehension of English. Many of the phrases, hyperboles, and adages that he uses are sometimes a little awkward sounding, or a little off/wrong.

How did you like amara?
>>
>>11499976
Didn't. At all. That's why I put it up for a swap.

I have a black friend who has sort of a poor hygiene type of smell to him. Sort of like a bad teeth smell. Aqva Amara smelled like oranges mixed with my friend's poor hygiene smell.

Get in on splits mate, the bottles look fantastic but you can get what you want for less than half the price if you just forego them. It's a fragrance at the end of the day - you smell it, not see it.
>>

I want to do the split, but I feel weird going on basenote forums or fragrance reddits and talking to people. I also don't know how to work Ebay and scared I'm going to get scammed.
>>
>>11501589
Ah don't feel weird about forums man! basenotes/ reddit/ facebook groups are all solid places to buy. The community is really good and splitting is pretty good natured. It's basically just helping eachother get the best price per ml on expensive stuff.

I guess you don't know the people, but I've never had anything less than great experiences

I'm looking for a scent I can use every time I leave the house for hot summer weather. I currently have Gucci Guilty and it's a great scent, but I think it's better suited for cold weather. I like the woody, foresty scents but that fresh aquatic description of "dew-drenched" and "icy" sounds close to something I'm looking for "breath of fresh air" even "lush" but still masculine.

I got a sampler with a magazine of this fragrance. I fell in love with it. Literally couldn't stop smelling the piece of paper for like 4 days.

Ordered a 4.2 oz tester off ebay. Just arrived.
Smells like soap. Smells totally different than what I was expecting.

Did I fuck up?

After an hour or so it smells very nice, just like how the piece of sampler paper smelled.

I'm no longer panicking.

Try Versace Man Eau Fraiche or Bvlgari Pour Homme Extreme. They're both cool, green, and suitable for the hottest days. Zero chance of being cloying in the heat even if you spray all over. The Bvlgari is leafier and greener, and the Versace is more citrusy, but both share the same basic smell.

>>11501584
Fahrenheit is one of my favorites, but it takes a certain confidence to pull it off. It's aggressive and macho with that petrol note and you have to ride that vibe or risk looking like someone who stole dad's cologne. If you're not alpha enough and you're intent on getting a Fahrenheit I'd recommend the Parfum version because the orange in it is sweeter and boozier, and you lose the effervescent gasoline smell.
>>
>>11502474
Wood and tobacco don't play well in heat. All the same, I'd say Wonderwood.
>>
>>11502500

The main one I use is called Fragrance Swap. It seems to have the most activity, and has good admins. I also have used Fragrance Marketplace and MyMickers Fragrance Community (created by the youtube guy) but those don't have as consistent activity.

Beware that a lot of what gets posted is people splitting niche frags, which is cool if you're looking for that. Also, I'm assuming you're American. These groups mainly only ship to CONUS so if you're not in the US you're out of luck.

>>11503040
fragrancenet and beautyspin are legit sites to order from. I buy 99% of my stuff from them because you can find almost anything on there and it will be heavily discounted from what you pay at sephora, nordstrom, etc. Also, you can buy testers sometimes at an even heavier discount. Word of advice: stay away from ebay. Unless the seller looks super reputable, it's just a crap shoot. It's too easy for them to get away with selling fakes.
>>
>>11502444
I'm not sure, gonna have to check some prices and see what it's selling for (grey market / third party, etc). It's 100ml tester bottle. About 97% full (I only sprayed it a handful of times). I just left out of town and will be gone for 10 days so I won't be selling any time soon anyway.

Sample size, at most 25ml IMHO. It takes that much to wear it for a long enough time to decide if it's for you. I have dozens of full size bottles and don't even use 25ml in a year for a single one unless it's something I love.

4711. Outstanding summer cologne that Tom Ford all but copied in Neroli Portofino. Longevity is very poor, but it's so cheap you can douse yourself with it every hour and still come out ahead. And sometimes you just want a refresher and don't want a summer frag to last all day.

Armani Code Profumo or AdG Profumo, any Paco Rabanne from the XS or 1 Million line, Dior Homme Intense, Sauvage, Bleu de Chanel or Aventus.

I was thinking about Lyrics as well. It is a very soft, romantic, rose scent and very well blended. Personally I wouldn't pay that much for Lyrics. For that money I want something with some more "wow"
>>
Can tom ford and creed even be considered Niche fragrance companies anymore?
>>
>>11510956
Tom Ford isn't a fragrance company.
It's a fashion company that happens to make a line of expensive fragrances.
$300/50ml ≠ niche.
>>
>>11510956
>Tom Ford
never been niche, I don't know why people categorize the Private Blend line as that.

>creed
definitely still niche. their only product is fragrance and their production output isn't at the volume of designer fragrances, which are the two criteria for what makes a house "niche"
>>
>>11511340
>>11510956
>>11511298
It is funny that people widely consider TFPB to be niche. Whereas, most people wouldn't consider Chanel's Exclusifs line to be niche, or Armani's Prive line, or Dior's, etc. etc.

imo I don't see why Creed would lose their "niche" status just because they're more popular these days.
>>
>>11509794

>>
>>11511563

>>
>>11511575
I kind of find BDC to be just a bit on the weak side as well, actually. It's funny how it's often set in the same category as Sauvage (or vise-versa since BDC was first), but Sauvage gets me massive compliments and lasts forever, whereas BDC hasn't gotten me one yet and doesn't last long at all. Also they only smell very vaguely similar, imo.

>>11510093
>Dior Homme Intense
Huh? I would never in a million years consider this a clubbing fragrance, it's too understated and subtle.
>>
House of Tom Ford Private Blend IS niche. Any fragrance that is more than 150$ is most definitely niche.
>>
>>11511615
Incorrect. TFPB frags are niche-quality but the house itself is 100% designer. The pricetag of the fragrances released does not make the entire house a niche fragrance house.
>>
>>11511615
That would be like saying "bespoke suits are expensive. hugo boss suits are expensive. therefore hugo boss suits are bespoke suits." Price has nothing to do with the definition of niche. Serge Lutens is a niche house and plenty of their frags are cheaper than many designer frags.

>>
>>11512106
I could have been clearer in my greentexting. That wasn't a knock against TL, which I love, or any TF frags. Although I love LYpH even more, but I digress... Houses can charge whatever people are willing to pay, imo. That is the only objective positive to buying niche: exclusivity. It's when people imply that niche frags are somehow of "better quality" than designer that my BS detector goes off.
>>
>>11512196
>only objective positive to buying niche: exclusivity
which isnt true either as many niche houses are affordable.

i think a more useful dichotomy would be luxury brands (non-niche like TFPB and niche like Creed, Amouage ) vs. non-luxury (<$150 retail for one bottle)
>>
>>11512217
>which isnt true either as many niche houses are affordable
You are absolutely correct. My implication that all niche frags are expensive is as equally false as the one that that are all of higher quality.

>a more useful dichotomy
Elucidate please? My whole premise is that price has very little correlation to quality.
>>
>>11511561
