I tried using acetone once to clean some really heavy bicycle oil stains on my stans and I repeat OP do NOT use acetone on leather, they got irreversibly damaged

Left or paint the stripe all white

Try a hair dryer / heatgun to see if you can peel it off.

All white would be best
