they are flying me down to Paris for my first ever castings in two weeks, and I had a clear face when I got scouted. I have mild acne now. anything I can do until then? not trying to become some cool top model, but if I want to have any chances at getting any jobs whatsoever I figure I'll at least need decent skin so what do I do

i already have a rotation following the advice in the faq
>>
>>11342978
what kind of acne is it? the red & inflamed kind? or just a lot of blackheads?
>>
Has someone ever dealt with a nose that is both oily AND constantly peeling?
>>
>>11343504
It really depends on your other products dude
At one point my skin started peeling at the beginning of myself following a routine. I stopped using a specific cleanser and used a stronger moisturiser and it got back to normal really quickly
>>
>>11343523
Here goes my products list.

Now that this is done, let me explain. I don't actually know what to do with my nose, peeling means that it need to use a moisturizer, yes? But it's already oily, wouldn't it be overkill?
>>
>>11343536
Without throwing you straight into a routine, I suggest you just wash your face in the morning and night with warm water, and if you already do that, a little splash will do well.

A moisturiser will help when (if) your skin starts to ease up bit by bit, but if you start using a moisturiser you might as well ease yourself into a routine with cetaphil and toner
>>
Is "Clean and Clear Oil Free Moiturizer (w/ salicylic acid)" any good? Feels like a ripoff at 8 dollars for such a small bottle. I'm not sure if Cetaphil is oil-free.

Gonna be buying the following things off of Amazon
>Kiloline exfoliating loofah pads
>Viva Labs coconut oil
>Either the Aztec facial cleanser or the Dead Sea one

Anyone use these products? Specifically curious about the last two. I know the OP recommends CeraVe but the coconut oil is a little bit better priced for the amount you get.

Is it safe to put Tea Tree Oil on under sunscreen before work to help kill some pimples?
>>
>>11344155
see the faq. you can get it out easily by using a needle/comedone extractor.
>>
>>11344173
oh, don't do this btw because it's very hard to exert pressure where you need the pressure to go. you usually end up pushing the area way too hard, and the blackhead/pimple is removed sometimes but you always end up with sore & red skin.
>>
>>11342987
it's just small spots, they aren't very inflamed or big (except one or two, sometimes). mostly just quite many small red spots, definitely noticeable

would appreciate any help

If I was in your situation, I would start taking N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC), 500-1200 mg/day, after reading up properly about the potential allergic reactions & side-effects, and starting small (<200 mg). But it would only be a short-term solution over a few weeks.

Been following skincare general for awhile, got rid of most of my acne and closed condomes, have very little left, but I suspect it'll go away eventually with continuing my routine.

Went out today, noticed my skin looks so lifeless and dull, very pale. When I got back home it looked fine. What can I do to make it appear more healthy and have a "glow"? I've thought about tanning, but not sure if it's worth the price of damaging my skin.

Right now I use benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid washes for my acne. I use hydroquinone to fade acne scarring at night.

Kojic acid soap to fix my tanned forearms
BB cream as a daily moisturizer
Nair to get rid of some arm hair
What are your experiences?

>>

when the skin is exposed to sunlight, the skin is damaged. this damage tells the skin to protect itself. it protects itself by creating melanin which makes your skin darker.

sunlight will help make your dark spots darker.

DIET AND EXERCISE.

I've been trying to figure out skin care for a while. And for me I have the best thing to do, is take all of the money spent on products, and spend it on the best food you can find.

Eat lots of high quality fats, and vegetables.

DIET AND EXERCISE.

Wash your face with only cold water. No soap or products.

Just improve your general health as much as possible and your skin will reflect that

DIET AND EXERCISE

Adapalene Gel 0.1% good for getting rid of minor black heads?
>>
>>11348756
My skin doesn't produce enough oil. If I wash off my natural skin oil, then I acne up real fast.

Some people might need to use warm water though. I'm just speaking from personal experience.

My face is completely clear right now. I haven't washed it in a few days, and whenever I do its with cold water.

I don't eat sugar, or bad oils/fats.

I just eat protein, moderate good carbs (like potatoes or whole grains), and a variety of veggies. I try to eat as many nuts and seeds as I can afford, as well as plain yogurt.
>>
>>11346790
Doing this, doesn't seem to do much good. Although my diet is inconsistent, maybe I need to eat more.
>>
>>11348360
Cleanser then exfoliate.
If you're using a chemical exfoliant, don't wash it off, read instructions if you're doubtful.

>>11348799
wait, so if I need to wash my face with cold water in the shower, do I just never use hot water? or do i wash my face in the morning with cold water, then take a hot shower at night?
>>
I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

ideally you would take a cold shower in the morning and warm at night (but never hot). if you are taking a warm/hot shower avoid washing your face. the way to tke a cold shower if youre just starting is begin on warm and gradually through the session just lower the temp. i did that for a few weeks and just gradually everytime start on a slightly cooler mode for the shower

try a asian sunscreen, biore watery essence is a personal favorite. asian sunscreens are much more elegantly formulated than western ones because they're so obsessed with skincare, they almost feel like you're wearing nothing and offer the best protection(spf 50 pa++++)
>>
>>11353499
>>11353475
BUT if your face is oily, you should get Biore Watery Gel, it's got less alcohol and is less likely for you to break out.
>>11352996
Not everyone's skin type is the same, so your mileage may vary. BHAs (beta-hydroxy acid) will help big pores minimise. Get the 2% stuff; 5% works but is more drying.

it could be an allergic reaction to something, as well as eczema. you should see a doctor to check what's up. antihistamines/ceramides might help if that's the case. look up pocketderm.

>>11353566
>you'll have to put moisturiser on it for months before it heals back into regular skin

no, this isn't correct. if the skin is just dry, a good moisturizer will restore the skin within hours to days. same goes for steroid creams for eczema. it's not a process that takes several months.

get a clearasil face pads, they have a chemical that lessens the appearance of scars and acne, i also recommend clearasil.grab a scrub face pad from cvs it should be a little pad with a strap on the back of it start doing it at least two times a day max three times a day, always apply lotion after washing your face and using the pad.

>>
>>11364893
>You can wear makeup after you clean your face, you know

yes, but you're missing the point. the way makeup messes things up is because different ingredients can be comedogenic/acnegenic.

>Benzoyl Peroxide for big pores/blackheads

consistent AHA/BHA works much better for that. BP is rather recommended for inflammatory and infected acne.

>lol if you apply benzoyl peroxide on to your back and then chuck a shirt on, your back will bleach it

yes, that is why it's suggested for people to only use it in the evening when using a throwaway shirt, or also in the morning with white shirts (that can't get bleached further).

Is putting Tea Tree Oil on blemishes (not necessarily pimples, just red areas) beneficial?
>>
>>11368092
Hell yes. I am one of the cleanest people I know, but I still get facial acne. About two months ago, I started using tea tree oil on my face, and all facial blemishes are gone (or at least diminished). It is a total lifesaver and I can finally feel confident about my face.
I use 100% Tea Tree Oil Extract from Trader Joe's. They also have facial wipes with the oil on them which work very well. Good luck senpai.

do you dilute it at all? 100% is pretty strong senpai

1) SHAVE SHAVE SHAVE
2) Probs not enough time (and yeah i know this was posted days ago)
3) Prevent by regular washing and application of spot treatment etc. For example, I know I have a tendency to get 1 to 2 spots on my right cheekbone along my sideburn. I treat regularly with spot treatment to kill any and all pesky bacteria, preventing acne.
4) Prevent by regular changing and washing of linens and pillow cases. I sleep on the right side of my face, I break out on the right side of my face... Keeping things clean (be it your face, your linens, your hands *if you ever have to touch your face) helps prevent lil fuckers from popping up over there.

I have very severe dandruff probably due to some heavy fungal infection. It's not like some ordinary dandruff, the skin on my scalp basically dissolves on touch. Like, immediately after washing it thoroughly it's pretty much the same as it was before. I scratch my head and pieces of dead skin are falling from my hair literally endlessly. Also, some red inflammation is sometimes visible at the base of my hairline, but sometimes it's gone. It's so shit I don't even want to go to the hairdresser anymore, last time I went right after washing my hair for 30 minutes and she still complained of it being full of dandruff. I have tried quite a few shampoos, some special tree leaf tea, my face-skin cream that worked for similar issues on my face and sprinkling lemon juice on it. Sometimes they make it go away for a time but it always comes back after a few days and becomes resistant to previous treatment. I'm going to try salt and vinegar to kill this fucking thing, but does anyone have some ideas in case it won't work?

For the past year i've been following a skincare routine, drinking lots of water, changing my pillowcases and washcloths daily, and exercising, but I still always have mild chin acne. How do I totally get rid of it?

Routine:

AM
Cetaphil cleanser
CeraVe moisturizer

PM
Cetaphil cleanser
Stridex red box exfoliant (every other night)
CeraVe moisturizer
>>
>>11371940
Well, for starters, try introducing a toner. What's your skin type? Is there any pattern to your chin acne? The way you sleep could affect it, too, if you sleep face down. There are a lot of things that could cause it.

Morning:
Glamglow Cleanser (Holy Grail, shittiest packaging ever though)
Dear by Enprani Toner (the pink one)
Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Moisturizer
Biore Aqua UV Lotion
Mizon snail gel repair cream

Night: Basically the same thing, without sunscreen, sometimes extra snail gel as a sleeping pack

On the weekends, I use fiftyshadesofsnail's blackhead eliminating routine to clear up blackheads and SFs. I use the jeju volcanic mask, clean it zero oil cleanser, and cosrx BHA power liquid, but you can use different products if you like, as long as it's a BHA, oil cleanser, and clay mask.

The only thing I'm really set on in my routine so far is my cleanser, might change my moisturizer but it hasn't caused any problems for me so far. I used Cetaphil for two months and it completely wrecked my face. At one point I had a cluster of pustules on my chin. No negative reactions to any Korean products.

Naturally, and excessively, oily. Referring back to those two hellish months with Cetaphil, halfway through the day you could see the oil droplets on my face.

I've been using these new products for almost a month now, and my face's oil production is hundreds of times better than it used to be.

I'm not averse to spending money if it's worth it. How long do they last you?

I'm this >>11371909 post so I'm not 100% sure what my skin type is right now since it was all over the place. Before that though I dry to normal. Now it's kinda mixed and my cheeks/chin are normal, leaning towards dry, but my forehead/noise is kinda oily just due to hair and sweat during the job. But yeah, I'll check those out and see if the brands have some stuff more focused on drier skin too.

Also curious to why you use what looks like 3 cleansers? What's the difference between them and how do they fit in your routine?
>>
>>11372279
Oh, well I use it Monday and Thursday. So 2 times a week.
>>
>>11372291
Gotcha, I'll definitely have to try it soon. If it works I'll post about It!
>>
>>11372290
yeah just use what best for your skin type, in this case the products I use are mostly for oily skin.

and there is 2 cleansers yeah, its exactly the same as a 2-step cleansing routine but with way better products and it works wonders. after cleansing my face I use the tea tree essence, wait around 5 min after applying it, then use the serum and after that I use moisturizer. and I use my peeling like once or twice a week depending on how my skin feels.

and yeah, everything except cleansers and tea tree oil lasts me for more than a month so as I replied to other anon you wont have to worry about spending more than $220 every month, only when you first buy them.

Ah, okay, 2-step cleansing makes sense then and yeah more than a month isn't too bad.

Here's a picture of my skin currently, what specifically would be good for the pores under my eyes/on my nose and my really uneven skin tone and reducing the redness? Also what would help with the kinda acne scarring on my forehead?
>>
>>11372358
i mainly used tea tree for little spot treatments. I havent used any other oils that werent a mix

My Cerave moisturizing cream is almost finished. What's a good full body + face cream I can use that's good like it? preferably cheaper so I can stock up

I'm thankful about the fact that this thread exist, I usually browse /ck/ and /vg/ abd other shit and pretty new around this one

I'm 25 and I have never used skin products, I don't smoke, don't wear makeup. I shower with warm water and finish with cold, clean my face and feet often, use lipbalm and hats always and sometimes sunscreen because I live in a really warm tropical place. I have never had acne or anything like that but I have always had delicate skin that turns red with touch (I try to avoid shaving as much as possible because it's hell). Lately have started to notice that injuries take longer to heal and I redden easier.

I was thinking about trying out colagen pills because I read that makes your skin stronger. Any experiece with that stuff?
>>
Do where does Retin A fit into a skincare routine?
>>
>>11368885
same

thinking about buying a juicer and having carrot juice everyday, since it gives your skin a healthy glow, and a slight tan

although i've heard it can make you look too orange, like a fake tan if you're really pale, so idk

It will get better. It sometimes gets worse for the first couple of weeks if you have a lot of acne under the skin like I did. In that case it will all come to the surface, but after that it was smooth sailing. I had lots of cystic acne so it took about 8 weeks for me to be clear, but if you just have little pimples then you might be totally clear in a month.

I'm gunna try this, thanks.

Don't press down when you shave, if you have to press down to remove the hair, your blade is dull and should be replaced. After shaving using witch hazel to prevent infection and consequent inflammation.

How do I deal with the rosacea meme? Seems like nothing has any sort of impact at all. Also bothered because I dont know how bad it actually is because it looks so different depending on the canera and lighting
>>

I don't know about collagen pills, but I know that topical collagen products are a waste of money because the molecules are too large to be absorbed by your skin, so they just sit on the surface.

Thank you, I have also been reading articles in English and a lot of reviewers seem to agree that collagen products don't work because it's impossible to assimilate collagen from an external source into your own and it's better to change your diet to food that stimulate collagen production.

Seems like what I need is to use sunscreen more often (and invest in a better one) and a good moisturing cream because I think what I have are effects of dry skin.

English sites are a lot better. Fuck Spanish sites and their shitty reviews. Turns out a lot of products and brands easily aviable here in Mexico that are percived as "good" are poorly ranked in sites in English.

does anyone know how to shave my buttcrack so i can finally have loud farts?
>>
Guys remember that if you're really serious about skincare, make sure to exercise (enough to sweat a good amount for a few minutes) have a non-shitty diet and taking care of yourself in general

No point in doing skin care if you aren't going to treat the possible root of the problems - which majority of the time is due to no exercise (again, actual proper exercise that lasts longer then 20+ mins) and shit diets

If you have body problems, it's due to the imbalances you've made within yourself and your lifestyle

I feel you. I live in a predominantly Hispanic community as well, and people always rave about the stupid, shittiest things. Sunscreen is definitely very important, I use sunscreen, layer clothing, and use an anti UV umbrella. You can never be too protected.

>>
Has anyone tried melanotan 2?
>>
>>11375741

Why are Hispanics consumers so retarded and uninformed? Everything it's good and hype, consumers in English sites are a lot pickier and make way better reviews. Spanish reviews are usually people who used the product for one day, and for some reason they always ignore shitty side effects because they think "it's part of using skincare products sweety :) you endure it".

Intramuscular injections seems like a bit overkill for a tan, though.

Is it necessary to use moisturizer?

Only my forehead is oily and the only moisturizer I have has fatty alchohols. I don't feel dey if I don't use one.

Also I am using products I apot tested but I am still getting closed comedomes and occasionally a swollen whitehead. Can products start doing weird things in combination with each other down the line? I'm using Cerave cleanser, Cerave PM moisturizer and AHA+BHA. I don't know what's fucking my skin up but I have a feeling it's the moisturizer or the cleanser since my face got worse after taking a break from the AHA+BHA

Sometimes different active ingredients can react with each other in a way that negates the benefits of them. That's quite rare, though. Actual harm to the skin from this is even rarer. No need to worry, Anon.

I feel like that's a staple of Hispanic culture. Like nothing good in life can come without paying terrible consequences. Or, "if it hurts, that's how you know it's working!" Fuck's sake, when your body is hurting and it shouldn't be, that's a sign that something is wrong. That's what pain is FOR. Pic related.

>>11376836
Moisturizing is very important, anon. During regular cleansing and especially if you're using actives. It probably seems pointless if you have a really oily face, but overproduction of oils happens to compensate for irritation. Also, maybe you're like me, and Cetaphil/Cerave is just garbage for your face. I swapped out my Cetaphil moisturizer for Neutrogena. Works like a charm.

Hey guys I broke out after recklessly testing out a soybean mask I was given. Most of the pimples I got have been reduced and are now PIH but there's this stubborn one which won't go away and doesn't look like any of them, having a more bulbous feel to it almost like a boil. How do I remove it?

w2c giant stuffed fish like this one?
it's the same fish that my cello teacher always had and I always thought it was so sick but googling "giant stuffed catfish" brings up many inferior stuffed fish, I want this one. Is it not a catfish?

So I've actually been washing my face with soap for quite a while now, and after reading this thread I guess I'm going to stop doing that. Dammit.

I'm a little confused, though, because the article says that those white Dove bars are fine for skin. That stuff's not soap, right?

My nose has also gotten pretty oily, that might just be due to the soap-washing, though. Does that seem plausible? Will it go away if I just stop soaping my face?
>>
>>11377948
It's really recommended you don't wash your face with soap and invest in an actual facial cleanser. Your nose is probably oily because the soap is stripping your face of oils and your skin is overcompensating for it. Remember to moisturize after.
>>
>>11378358
Well, yeah, I said as much myself. I'm just a bit confused about the inclusion of the Dove bar in there as well. I'm definitely going to look into getting an actual for-faces product for my face.

I'm not certain if I'll need moisturizer, though. Even before I started using soap my face was pretty oily, I think.
